pre-op vs post-op vitamins
I also live at the Reservoir. In Riverchase subdivision. I'm not new to the board at all (I joined OH several years ago); I'm just shy...I sit back and read a lot. heh. I've started posting recently because I really want to be interactive with others in the WLS world. Everyone here seems so nice and genuine..I just have a hard time knowing where to start a conversation.
Now once I get to know ya, I'm much more of a talker. oh, and when I get nervous I talk too much.
But to update you quickly on me: I'm 30, married, mom to a busy 3 year old boy. I'm a nurse. I'm 5'8" and was 296 when I signed up for my roux-y (which is scheduled for 2/28). I've been on pre-op diet since Monday (full liquids until 2/21, then clear liquids till 2/28) and I've lost 7 pounds. but i'm STARVING. haha. i think he must do this to get me ready for post-op. at least my hunger headache is better today.
anyway..nice to meet ya. I'm Mary.
Oh my, next week! Cool...I'm in Audubon Pt. So, let us know if you need anything during surgery, or someone to hold your hand. There are several of us who live close - Arlies is tied up with JOYCE having surgery on 27th, YEAH JOYCE. Where are you having surgery? I only had to do a two-day liquid diet, but you'll make it. D.
About a month before surgery, my Doc had me start on vitamins....I really don't remember what kind! I AM senile!! But now, I take "BoneSmart" from Dollar General, $3 for 60 vitamins - that's 1 month supply- and my Doc says they are great!

PS Us Jackson area girls, are gonna do lunch in March (other folks come on when we pick a time and place, we'll post it.) What is your schedule like? And we LIKE little guys so don't worry about trying to get a sitter or anything!!!!
I wa****and-miss with vitamins pre-op but I am all hit now! I mistakenly took a multi-vitamin which did not contain Iron for several months and boy did my body and my labs show it. I now take Chewable Centrum for a multi, I-Car C (prescription iron and vitamin C), Liquid sublingual B complex and occasional potassium. I think that the chewables are absorbed better than the ones I took whole. I can't prove it but I sure can feel it.
