OMG Moment!!!!
I went on Saturday to Schenzen, China to pick up some pants from the dressmaker/tailor and to drop off a few other things that I wanted to have altered if it was any hope there. Among the things was a dress made of hand dyed batik silk from Thailand that I had made just before my surgery since I had to attend a wedding. It was so beautiful. So I packed the dress in hopes that Rosie could do something to make it wearable. She decided to cut another dress from it since it was big enough to do so. Just for fun, she measured the dress and then me.... I have lost 8" in the bust, 10" in the waist and 12" in the hips! She and both were so shocked!!!! Of course, I was shocked too when I put on a skinny pair of jeans and can see light coming from between my legs!!!!
Wow, this weight loss is really a ride!!!! and am still losing, at 7 and 1/2 month point..... Not bragging but just wanted to share my surprise!!!

Cheryl, that is a wonderful way to start your valentine week. You must feel so good about yourself. I am so proud of you because you are on the other side of the world and can't get foods as easily as we can here in the states. Girl you just wear those "skinny" jeans with pride, since you earned that right. I hope you and your husband have a very romantic valentine day tomorrow. Smiles, Jan
That is so totally awesome! I am glad you shared your "OMG moment" with us!! It thrills me to share other peoples WOW moments in life.. I tell you, when I was shopping this weekend, I seen how crazy sizing on clothes are. I was shopping for a business suit, and tried on several different ones in several different sizes. In one brand, a size 6 fit, and tight but in the other brand I wore a size 2. Well, I knew that my jeans were a size 2, but wow that was a big difference in sizes. Of course I totally refused to buy the size 6, even if I did like the way it looked on. I guess it is just the principle of things. But I really wanted a pants suit, not a skirt, so I bought the one that was pants. I will be sure to take pictures in it and post them next month when I wear it.
I hope you and your sweetheart have a wonderful Valentines Day..
Love,
Rhonda
You are right, sizes in different brands of clothing vary greatly. I saw a 60 minutes presentation several months back where they took clothes from major retailers and did a size measurement comparason on them to see how much they vary, and using the basic size chart from the 1960's vs the standard chart measurements for 2002? Everything is about 2 sizes up from the 60's chart, and Old Navy was the biggest offender! Their sizing was 2 sizes larger than some compeditors! It is a good marketing tool in that women always want to buy a smaller size, and getting something smaller at Old Navy made them feel good and want to come back there to shop! Tricky People! I have to measure things here to see if they will fit since you cannot try on clothes in the shops. It is funny to see the difference!
Have a great week!
