What about visits to the dentist??

I have a dentist appointment to get my teeth cleaned. My question is can our pouches handle this stuff. I am wondering about it. Has anyone had their teeth cleaned since surgery? How did it go, any problems. Just curious. Thanks Steph

Yep, i had my grill cleaned last week! I was fine ,just make sure you tell them, i didnt swallow any of the tooth paste though! dawn

Tell them about your WLS so they can check health of teeth for any nutrient deficiency or general poor condition. Low calcium Also if you get local anestia (sp) for anything be sure you eat prior to the injection. It will change your blood sugar level and make you feel uncomfortable. This happened to me when I had a benign lyphoma removed. My spelling is awful today. glenda

Had a checkup and cleaning then a crown and a filling done. All went well. No ill effects.
