hey yall! I'm finally gettn better!

Hey everybody! It's been a long time since I have been able to post. I had my surgery and so far I've lost close to 80 pounds. 30 pounds of it was extra water weight i put on in the hospital. For those of you that don't know my story, I had surgery Dec. 13 and I almost died from it. I started bleeding internally and I had four pints of blood in my intestines and it was full of clots. I had to have a blood transfusion of four pints as well. I almost bled to death before anyone knew what was going on. To make matters worse, they got my meds mixed up with another patient, who was a cancer patient. I got his, and he got my barium swallow (yuck!) and my insiscion (cant spell) got infected, so my staples had to be removed (btw, I was supposed to have laproscopic, but when I woke up, they had ran into problems and had to do open) and I have been having to let my wound heal from the inside out, and let me tell you, that is no fun at all! But i just thank Jesus every day that he brought me from the brink of death to where i am now, I am almost healed completely, another three weeks and my wound should be healed. I am not back at work, I am using a friends computer to type this, I won't be back at wor****il "tenatively" March 1st. GIRL , I'm so happy to see your face on here again ! I have been very worried about you, yhea i know i havent called! I always feel like i might be bothering people when i call them , expecially when thay arent feeling well! I"m so glad you are starting to feel some better, i bet you are looking good too! 80 lbs OMG i have only lost about 93 and im 8mos out!LOL I will call you today! I PROMICE! LOVES YA, dawn

It is so great to see that you are feeling better. We have all been very worried about you. I am so happy for you that you have lost 80 pounds already, that is totally awesome. I hate that you had to go through everything that you have though in order to get to this point. Sounds like the hospital made some serious mistakes with you, giving you the wrong medicine.. How in the world do they do that, doesn't it say who the medicine is for right there on the chart or something? That kind of mistake could very easily be fatal, and should not be taken lightly. hey steph!! I am glad im finally feelin better too! whooo what an ordeal to go through! Just between us, i have hired a lawyer to look into my medical files from the hospital. They are just investigating the medicine mixup, because not only did i almost bleed to death over the blood thinner they gave me, but the man that got my medicine (he was a bone cancer patient that had blood clots .. the blood thinner should have went to him instead of me) was NOT SUPPOSED to be moved according to his wife who was really pissed off when she found out what happened. With the blood clots, any false move could have sent the clot to his lungs or heart. Any who they gave him my barium swallow, and he vomited all over him self. By the way remember he wasn't supposed to be moved? well they took him out of his bed and wheeled him to xray, his bones could have been broken or he could have had the blood clots kill him. It was a total mess! I am doing really well on my eating. i can usually eat about 4oz sometimes more, it just depends on what it is. usually not a whole lot mor than a half cup at a time. I have found that Fire Mountain, used to be Ryan's will give you a discount if you show them your card from you doc saying you've had the surgery. I only throw up if i eat too much too fast. Trust me its not pleasant at all. I start hurting in my chest and I feel nauseated, but when I go ahead and hurl, it just goes away instantly. How about you? Take care Crystal

Girl; It is really good to hear from you. That is too bizare what happened to you in the hospital. I have the same problems If I eat too fast my chest starts hurting and when it comes up I am fine. It is strange how it works like that. I have learned that I have to concentrate on eating and chewing really well or I will be sick. I am sooooo glad to hear that you are doing much better that seems like it was quite the ordeal. Steph

Oh wow..I'm glad you're okay. That's horrible about what happened! If possible, just look ahead. Don't fret over what's already happened...just see where it's going to get better for you!
