thanks for your help!

I want to thank each of you for your prayers and words of encouragement...after much more discussion, my husband is now willing to support me in having surgery. I'm scheduled for lap roux-en-y for 2/28/06 @ river oaks here in jackson. I'm so excited...and scared to death, too. all these years of research and now it's down to 3 weeks away!!! and the last 2 weeks pre-op are liquid diet. wow. not looking forward to that. i'll be a mean woman. I am going to be self-pay. and let me say that is hard. everyone wants money (cash) up front. i keep thinking to myself---it's the cost of a new car...haha. and i'm worth a car, right? thanks again for listening. i'll be coming out of my cacoon soon. mary

Do you mind emailing me and telling me what you are being charged/quoted for surgeon and hospital? I am trying to find a way to have the surgery now that my VR funding fell through. Thanks, Marci [email protected]

YES!!! I am so pleased for you! If I can do ANYTHING, just holler! I will do my best to be there for your surgery. I haven't been to River Oaks so it will be a new adventure for me! Let your hubby know that if he needs to talk to another man about this, my hubby will be glad to talk to him. Now don't be scairt! You'll only feel like someone stomped on your liver for about a month!!!! Smoochies Arlies

thanks everyone. It's so great to have support. last time I didn't tell anyone and that made it much harder.... Dr. David Carroll is doing mine...lap roux-y. he's not a bariatric specialist, but is a terrific surgeon...i've taken care of his patients for years. i trust him completely.
