Dr.'s Appt
I went to the doctor this morning. My biggest concern was that I am still losing weight. I have been trying to stop since I was at about 130 pounds, that was 13 pounds ago. He said that I could get down as low as 106 and still be considered in a healthy weight for my height, however he does not want me to fall below 110. The only advice he could give me was to up my calories to 1200-1500 a day, even if it means eating all day to get them in. He said he does not encourage grazing, but in my case that may be what I need to do. He also said high calorie high protein smoothies would be something good to add to my diet. Does anyone have a recipe for that? I have no idea how to make a smoothie. I keep fruit on hand all the time and I still have some Unjury protein powder in vanilla flavor. I do not like foamy stuff though. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. He wants to see me again in three months to be sure that my weight loss has stopped and to do bloodwork to make sure all of my levels are still okay. I am going to try and get an appt with the nutritionist on base and see if she can give me some ideas about how to raise my calorie level without eating things that are bad for me.
Thanks in advance for all your ideas..
Love,
Rhonda

I will go back to TGIFridays because I called the manager of the restaurant and explained what happened and she sent me a letter that states that I have a $45.00 credit at the restaurant. I told everyone to call and complain, and they would give you free food for your next visit... The way I feel about it is, when you go to a restaurant, you are not really paying for the food as much as you are paying for the service of someone else cooking and serving you, that is where the restaurant failed miserably... We had a very nice friendly server BUT the overall service sucked! She was very apologetic and she fixed the problem.. She thanked me for calling her and said it is customers like me that make a business successful, because if no one calls and tells her what is going on, she has no way of knowing when there is a problem. It is not too late to call....
Love ya...

You saw MY man!!! I am so jealous!!! I am glad it went well tho. Ain't he a doll? I hope you told him that I love him best!
I'd say a regular milkshake a day if you can tolerate the sugar without going nutz....or a no-sugar added ice cream with WHOLE milk and fruit kinda shake....yum....PLEASE GOD let me have Rhonda' problem!!!

Smoothies are easy. One of my favorites is with strawberries and bananas. All you need is some vanilla yogart, milk, fresh stawberries and bananas. Mix in the blender to your desired thickness and enjoy. I usually add some spenda and maybe a little cool whip to mine. You could add protein powder too.

When I was pregnant (and had the band) and was trying to up my intake, but keep it healthy, the nutritionist suggested that when I make smoothies to add a couple tablespoons of powdered whole milk. It added nourishment without bulk. you don't even have to reconstitute the milk part if you're making the smoothie with yogurt or something.
Of course, this brings up a question I have for you roux-y 'ers....are you lactose tolerant? I know i've read about there being some issues without that... i'll have lots more questions i know.
