VERY UPSET

Hi yall as I posted this week we have orders for key west fl . I have been doing some looking around to see who I will see as far as a wl dr well they dont have any on base or off . I know it sounds silly but I am so upset I have even cryed it scares me to know that if something happens and those dr's dont know how to work on me what will happy .. I hopethat I am just being silly . The closest dr I think is over 3 hours away and that is just what think . The girl that I talked to on the phone at the big hospital in key west said what is bariatric when I asked that wasnt good so I told her oh no we dont do that here and dont know anyone who does here so far I have found that the people in key west hav eto be seen over 5 hours away that is not good ... Please pray that it will all work out .. sara

Call Dr. Jenkins at Keesler and tell him where you are going and have him look up somebody there he can talk to about this. They need to understand you and what's happened to your gutsies....I bet somebody in Dr J's office knows somebody there!!! Don't be discouraged...you have an opportunity to educate them!!! Every thing has a way of working itself out. Do what Arlies said, contact Dr. Jenkins and see what he has to say about the situation. Your husband can always use that to get his orders changed to a different base, like Jacksonville or something. I guarantee that their are WLS doctors in the Jax area. But do some more research, you may find something. Best of luck. Rhonda

HEy Girl.. ya know , I hear ya on the "not changing orders" policy of the Coasties.. but I still think you oughta have hubby at least try to talk to someone about this. with them not having any appropriate health care facilities to accomodate you, it could lead to a potentially dangerous problem if something < god forbid > would happen. The Navy usually doesn't change orders but sometimes they make exceptions for hardships. Hence the reason we got to go to Pascagoula rather than Japan a few years ago Can't hurt to try???
