Joyce - I called my VR counselor this morning and he said they are NOT funding this service any longer. I asked him if it was because of a shortage of funds and would they reinstate it with the new fiscal year budget starts in July, and he said NO. They are completely doing away with this service. If it had not been for your post I would have gone to my consultation visit and paid $225 for nothing. I just can not believe that nobody called from VR or the Doctor's office to let me know about this! I feel like someone has played the worst possible joke on me right now. It has taken me 7 months just to get to my consultation visit with the surgeon only to find out 5 days before, that VR is no longer funding this surgery. I know you have been waiting alot longer than me and I am so sorry that this has happened to you. I have racked my brains today on how I am ever going to be able to afford this surgery without the help of VR and I just don't know what to do ~ I just feel so lost...... Best of luck to you! Marci

BLESS YOUR HEART!!!! I may have a suggestion on financing. Call Adam Dungey at Central MS Hospital about a financing program they use there but from my understanding other hospitals take it also. He is super!!!!! I just happened to have saved his card!!!maybe this is a sign. Adam Dungey--Coordinator for Bariatric surgery 601.376.2474 phone 601.376.2491 fax glenda

This STINKS!!!! BTW this board is "obesity help" not "WLS" help so you cannot leave us. Remember UMC does do patient grants...ASK quickly about it cause we don't wanna lose our date. Also if that doesn't work out, and it should since you are not working, then remember what I said about disability. AND DO IT! I love you girl, it's gonna work out somehow. I promise. God hasn't brought you this far to drop you....He is merely working out a better way. Hang on to that hope. Love you bunches and bunches and bunches, Smoochies and lots of hugs Arlies
