I've been a lurker lately as I've been recovering. It took me longer to recover than I thought. My DH said well you are 60 and had 2 surgeries this year. His arm will heal soon(just kidding) l was doing great until the stomach virus, I became dehydrated and went to the hospital, to be treated shabbliy in the ER. I sat there for 12 hours before they thought about starting an IV. My bp was 220/100 and they ignored it and me untll my husband called my surgeon and he hit the roof and called the ER. After I was moved upstairs everything changed for the better. I could not have asked for better treatment. I had a TIA from the elevated bp and now need to wait for my vision to hopefully clear completely. If you have to go to the ER don't let them treat you the way they did me. They acted like I said I'd had a face lift. Obesity discrimination still exist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tomanip

Sure have missed seeing you on the boards.... I hate to hear you have been sick - 12 hrs in the ER is absolutely CRAZY! Glad your hubby called the surgeon - I bet he told those folks in the ER off big time.... Marci

Hey Vel, Glad your doing some better. Thanks for the emails keeping me updated on you & the baby. He is a little looker & a real cutie patootie !!! Yes, Obesity discrimination is alive & well. Unfortunatly. That will probably be the last remaining discrimination left in the world. Not too many people will take a stand against it. It's like we don't even matter or that we are a waste of the skinny worlds time. Oh well, at least we can always pray that things will get better one day. Tammy

Thanks Tams, Raymond, my great-nephew will be over his birthweight soon . I can't imagine holding a baby under 5 lbs. My smallest was 5'13" and she was like a doll. We're calling him Tigger because he's too small to be a tiger but he sure has fought like one to stay alive. I think that we as we get to our goal weights should NEVER EVER forget what it was like to be fat and the hurts we endured, and call down people when we see it done to others. Well,I'll get down off my soap box now Love ya lots, Tomanip

Hey girl... I wondered why you hadnt been posting. I have been getting your emails at home so I knew you were okay but I didnt know you were sick. I am glad you are feeling better and back on the board. I am sorry you got dehydrated and they treated you bad. I try to stay away from the ER's. We have an Immediate Care here that I use if it is after hours. They are open til 10p. Hope you are staying around for awhile.. Christine PS... That baby is adorable!
