I just had to do one for today. I have a project due in a few days and I thought that it was such a neat project that I wanted to share it with my dearest friends. This will definitely help us tell more about each other and what type of people we are. Pretend you are having a dinner party. You can invite any five guests you would like that have ever lived or are still living. List the five people, why you would invite them, what the topics of conversation would be at dinner and what you would serve. I am still working on mine, but thought I would go ahead and post this and let everyone get to thinking about it. Have fun with it... Love, Rhonda

For my dinner party, I would invite the following people: Oprah Winfrey would be my first guest. Through her private charity, The Oprah Winfrey Foundation, she has awarded hundreds of grants to organizations that support the education and empowerment of women, children and families in the United States and around the world Oprah has done so much for so many people that she is an American Hero to me. Education is very important to her, just as it is for me. Clara Barton would be my second guest. She almost single handedly founded the American Red Cross, which has provided comfort in times of crisis since 1882. Clara Barton was its first president and for the next 23 years directed its relief activities. Clara Barton was one of America's greatest heroines -- a true patriot and philanthropist who, when she saw a practical need, gave every ounce of her strength to address it. Thomas Edison would be my third guest. He was an amazing inventor that we owe a lot to. He invented so many important things that have made our lives so much better. In his lifetime he patented 1093 inventions, not all of them were successful, but the ones that were have made life easier. My fourth guest would be Florence Nightingale- Mother of Modern Nursing. There are countless examples of Florence Nightingale's continuing legacy in the nursing profession that she founded, from the continuing work of the Nightingale School of Nursing and throughout the entire field of nursing education and medical records. My final guest would be Louise Stalvey, my granny. She was one of the most loving and caring people I have ever known. She would love to sit and talk with these amazing people that are at my dinner party and hear what they have to say about world today. Of course, she would also give them her opinions on how she thinks things should be done. Topics for discussion: 1.) I would want to know how Clara Barton felt about the way the crisis of Hurricane Katrina was handled and how she would have handled it herself. 2.) I would like to discuss how much Oprah has contributed to the world and how she rose to fame and became the philanthropist that she is today. 3.) I would like to discuss how Thomas Edison thought of so many wonderful creations. It would be interesting to hear him tell us how he thought to create electric light that we all have become so accustomed to. 4.) I would like to discuss how Florence Nightingale feels that the medical field is today and hear her stories about war and saving lives. My menu would consist of Ribeye steaks grilled to perfection, baked potatoes with the topping of their choice, a fresh garden salad, and piping hot yeast rolls. As you can tell I am a meat and potatoes kind of girl. We would also share a bottle of wine and wonderful conversation. I know that I picked people from all different eras, but I think this would be a very interesting combination of people. All of them are very caring about the people of the world and all have contributed to at least one person in their lifetime, some to millions of people. It was so hard to decide who to invite, because there are so many people that are so interesting that I would love to sit and talk to for hours and hours.
