Got my stiches out
Well, I went to the doctor yesterday and got my stitches out. She used disolvable stitches everywhere but around the belly button. So, it wasn't too bad. She said everything looked good and was healing very well. She told me she removed 2 pounds of excess skin. That really isn't too bad considering I have lost almost 150 pounds. I was really surprised it wasn't more. It felt like more than that to me LOL. But, anyway, I am taking it easy as directed and doing much better.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. Talk to you guys later.
Melissa
It has been a pretty rough week. But luckily it is ending more positive. I had some swelling earlier in the week when I was forced to overdo it. But that seems better this morning as I did nothing yesterday but lay around until time for my appointment. I plan on taking it easy this weekend. My dad is feeling some better. He will be in the hospital several more days, but he seems to be in better spirits and not quite so worried and scared. He has a long road to being fully recovered, but we will be there to help him.
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.
Melissa
Hey Girl!
Dish the details! or as many as your care to "on air". Which cut did she use? Last time we talked, it was up in the air! How is your belly button done and do you like it? I never really liked the "new one" and I plan to have it revised next round.
Don't forget to get in all your water and protein to help you heal. I'm so excited for you
(and a teensy bit jealous)!
Take care of yourself,
Elesha

Those first few days I was questioning what in the world I had done to myself doing all that at once. But now I am glad I did. She ended up doing the anchor cut and that is fine with me. The scar will fade. She said she just couldn't get it good enough with just the bikini cut alone due to most of my excess being above the belly button. I had very little below the belly button.
On the breasts, she did the lift and implants. She used a 390 CC implant on the left and a 400 CC on the right because one was bigger than the other LOL which she said is normal. They may be a little bigger than I had anticipated but maybe not because I still have some swelling. But she said she lifted and filled up what I had with a little skin removal. So I guess whatever size I end up is what I would have been if I had not lost breast tissue. I was always big chested in high school.
John is making sure I get lots of protein and water. Ane it is definitely paying off. I am healing really fast. She said it definitely isn't true about us WLS patients healing slower because I am healing quicker than some normal people and the scars look really good. I think if we do right and take our supplements we are as healthy as anyone else.
As soon as I am up to it, we will have lunch again. I really enjoyed that. I will be in touch.
Melissa
That is GREAT! I'm glad you are doing so well. Can't wait to see how great you look. I'm sure you're "faaaabulous daaaaaling".
I agree with you about taking the supplements to be healthy. I've gotten my iron levels back up and it makes a TREMENDOUS difference in how I feel. And, I've lost 5 lbs since I saw you last, just by implementing "the rules"!
Take care,
Elesha
