Those who had WLS @ Forrest General in Hattiesburg

Hi. How much did you have to pay up front? Last year BCBS told me if I was approved, they'd pay 90% , but when I called a few days ago I was told 85%. I'm just curious if I'll have to pay the 10-15% before surgery or if I'll be expected to pay more. Thanks!

Hey Melissa... I was going to have to pay 1500.00 up front.. Luckily they accepted the Vocational Rehab and all I ended up paying up front was my hospital co-pay of $250.00 and because FG still considers this a cosmetic procedure they will not do payment plans..Trust me, I had no idea until 2 days before surgery they expected me to come up with that money. I freaked. My insurance covered my surgery but Voc Rehab covered everything insurance didnt pay. Check with them and see if they can cover for you what your insurance doesnt.

Don't think Voc. Rehab. could help me. I'm a stay at home mom & haven't worked since '99. Thanks though! I know I'll find out all of this eventually, I was just curious. Thanks!

I had a bad experience w/forrest General all the way around. I will tell you in person. I had no luck in getting BCBS to pay. Please call me or come see me at Wal-mart in Laurel. I work nights and Saturdays in the Vision Center. I also teach at Laurel High school. glenda
