protein shakes at 7mos out?
Ok i got a question , is it ok to still be having a couple of portein shakes a day at 7mos out? I read on the main board that some of them say NO and other still have them !Some drs never let the patients have a shake at all! I'm confussed! Some say that they will slow the wt loss down and others say it helps them loose!GRRRRRR I haven't been drinking them i kindda quite about 3 mos out and just have one every now and then. I have started drinking them again this week trying to break this durn palteau i'm on, don't know if its gonna help or hinder !What is ya'll opinion?

I think it depends on the amount of food that you are able to eat. Even with protein drinks, I don't get enough protein... so I still drink them. I had stopped, but recently started back. I buy the Blue Bunny Carb Freedom Yogurt Smoothies. They are YUM YUM! They have 13 grams of protein - so not quite as much as my "protein shakes" but I can't stomach those anymore. I'm not sure how drinking the shakes would hinder weight loss, unless it sends you over the top on carbs/calories. I don't know that much about the nutrition side of things, but I will tell you that since I upped my protein and have been making a concious effort to get more in, I've started losing again. Of course this means my carb intake has gone way down too -- just don't have room for them.

I dont think they will putme over the top on my cals and carbs im drinking one for breakfast, eattin a lunch and have one at dinner, and TRYING not to eat in between! I can eat alot so im having to use willpower, which i don't have much of!LOL I dont know how long i can do them the taste is so bad!Yuck!
I don't think there is a right or wrong answer when it comes to protein shakes. Dr. Avara said that he prefers that you eat your protein if possible but if you don't feel you are getting enough in then you can do a protein shake as a snack. I would not suggest you replace meals with the shake at this point. You need to eat three meals a day and then add in the supplements if you feel you need them. If you are still having a problem with eating too much, measure your food and only eat what you have measured for yourself and no more... Wait a couple of hours and eat again if you are hungry. Not eating at all definitely will not kick start your weight loss. Are you taking your vits and calcium?? Will Donnie be back in town on Friday? If so, I would love for us to do lunch so we can talk..

THANKS RHONDA, I'M MEASURING EVERYTHING, I HAVE BEEN REPALCEING MEALS WITH THE SHAKES , HOPEING IT WOULD HELP,IT'S NOT DOING ANYTHING ! I'M NOT EATTING TOO MUCH , I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, I'M SURE I DON'T NEED THE SHAKES , I THINK MY ISOPURE MIXED IN MY CRYSTAL LIGHT ,I DRINK IT THOUGHOUT THE DAY, WOULD BE ENOUGH TO GET IN 90GS OF PROTEIN WITH MY FOOD. I GOT TO GO BUY SOMEMORE! I'M TAKING MY VITS , NOT ANY CALICUM, DIDN'T KNOW I NEEDED IT!

Maybe oneday I will be able to squesse into a 10 an if an when i do Ya'll will never hear me complain about my size again! That's a promise! I might whine a little about some nasty hanging skin on my tummy , though!lol I dont think ya'll are ready for me to get on that soap box , yet!
