Sleep Study

Just wanted to let ya'll know what's going on. I have my sleep study tonight. NOT looking forward to this mainly due to the fact I am soooooo worried I just won't be able to sleep since that is almost the norm for me lately. I was suppose to have an evaluation to see if I needed the sleep study but the nurse called me and said after talking with Dr. Whitehead they feel they need to skip the evaluation and go right to the study. Not sure how to take that but ok then. I guess this is what's been my hold up surgery wise. Guess I can't blame Dr. Whitehead for wanting to be sure everything is on the up and up before surgery. Anyways pray I do get to sleep so I can get this over with! lol Talk to you all soon and I hope to be able to make the lunch next week. With the kids being home it'll be up to if I can find a babysitter or not. Anyways I'll report how it went tomorrow. Wish me luck! Keli

They will give you a little something to help you sleep. If you have trouble going to sleep, they may offer it, if not ASK! My first sleep study, I lay there and thought, "I MUST go to sleep.....I CAN"T go to sleep....I MUST go to sleep....I CAN'T go to sleep...." for about 3 hours....They knocked me out!!!!! Hey Doll, You know they wouldn't give us a thing at UMC. They said that it messed with the results & they needed the results from people when they were not medicated. Something about you would sleep too heavy due to the pills & they only wanted you to sleep heavy- if that is the way you did it anyway. You were soooo lucky to get something. Tammy

HOW RUDE!!!! Not to give you nuttin'! Whatever they gave me was real light and not a HEAVY sleeping pill...I wanna say ambien, but I don't even know what ambien is!!! It's prolly for "male enhancement" or something!!! !!!!!!! Smoochies Arlies

Oh it is ok....... Heck I slept like a drunk on a park bench. Johnny was there & can back that statement up He said I was curled up & snorring like crazy within 30 mins of laying down. If anything should have "arose" or "grown in", I do hope that you would you have told us about it Tammy

Ya the sleep study nurse already told me I couldn't take anything. Basically when I told her how my sleep was and what would happen if I couldn't sleep she just laughed and said well just hope you can sleep. You were most lucky to get to take something. Keli

Hey Keli... Did you finally get approval from your insurance company? Did I miss that? I didnt have to have a sleep study but I remember Janet telling my sister that she would have to have one. I think it is something new they are implementing. You will sleep fine and it is really better to be safe than sorry. Are you going to be at the meeting on the 16th?
