Hello all,
I'm Sheri and am planning on having Lap. RNY hopefully in March. I have really been encouraged site. I have to go through a six month physician supervised diet before my insurance provider will consider approving the surgery, and I only have 2 more months to go. Wish me luck that all goes well. So far everything has really been going well. I am getting nervous as time passes by.
All of my family have been supportive of my decision to have this surgery, except my husband. He is afraid that something bad will happen. I have tried to explain everything to him, but with the media talking about people dying or being sick all the time has him worried. Pray with me that he will come to understand my need to make this step in my life. I am soooo tired of being overweight and am ready to do this!

Hey, Sheri. Welcome to the MS board. There are lots of good people here who give great support and will pray you through and be there for you. Good luck on your journey. And I hope your husband will find the answers and peace that he needs so that he can be there for you as well. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us posted.

I had Gastric Bypass in April--down around 125 lbs.

Nice to meet you! Welcome to the family! I had lap RNY at Keesler in January of 2005. I am down 216.8 lbs! It has been a life saver! Please come back often and post and keep us updated on how you are doing. Good luck with the supervised diet....You can do it!!! Please take your hubby to a support group meeting and to any related event you can. If you both could come to lunch at O'Charleys on MLK Day at 11, it would help him and we'd all get to meet you in person!

Welcome to the site. My name is Steph and I just had the surgery done on Dec 27th and this board was a BIG help to me. they came and visited me in the hospital and sat with me in Jackson while my friends were in Meridian and could not come over. Any question you have will be answered here on the board. I have been very fortunate and have recovered very well. It doesn't always happen that way. Good luck with your diet and surgery.
