My sister Shirley (the one that works at Rush Hospital that ya'll haven't met) is in the hospital at Anderson's in Meridian. Her husband works at Anderson's. She has been feeling bad lately and today she started coughing and couldn't stop and coughed up blood. They rushed her to the hospital and the Doc said she is going into congestive heart failure. She has fluid collecting around her heart and in her lungs. She was given lacix (sp) and that is getting the fluid off. Also was given a nitroglycern IV and a magnesium IV. She is improving already, but it has given us a HUGE scare. Her oldest son is on his way from Monroe, LA where he was visiting with his girlfriend and her family, but the youngest is in Oxford and waiting to start school tomorrow. Jon got moved back in the dorm today and went straight to Anderson's to see about Aunt Shirley. He called me and said she is gonna be alright. My knees are weak and I have lost several years tonight....Shirley is 27 months older than me and has been my life-long playmate. Please keep all us in your prayers. I will be going to Decatur early tomorrow and picking up Barbara and going to check on her myself....so think of us traveling. Smoochies Arlies

I am so sorry to hear that your sister is so sick. I will keep you all in my prayers. And I hope she gets through this and gets well really soon so you can have your playmate back. There is nothing like a sister. I wouldn't trade my relationship with my little sis for nothing in the world. Be safe traveling and keep us posted on how she is doing. Melissa

I couldnt imagine something like that happening with my sister so I know how upset you are. Sounds like she is going to be just fine and back home pretty soon. She is in my prayers and I hope you will continue to keep us updated.
