MEDICAID INS

Is there anyone on the board that lives in Mississippi and has Medicaid Ins that paid for your WLS? If so please inform me b/c I have a friend that lives in misssissippi that's interested in having WLS and shes trying to find a surgeon and hospital that accepts medicaid. thank you in advance Renee

If any hospital takes medicaid in MS, it would have to be UMC in Jackson. I may be wrong tho, but I don't think medicaid covers WLS. mediCARE does, tho.....I highly recommend Dr. Salameh at UMC (tho the wait is FORever), but if your friend MUST be hospitalized at UMC, then I very very strongly recommend that she take someone to stay with her that is EXTREMELY pushy and vocal! Renee, I don't think Medicaid in Ms. covers wls. I know a few people that have had vocational rehab pay for the surgery. She can contact them using their wesite which is as follows ... http://www.mdrs.state.ms.us/client/ovr.html Hope this helps Kimberly
