Hello everyone! When I was a little girl, I stayed with my grandparents when I wasn't in school. Well, if I went to my grandaddy with a bump, bruise or scratch, he'd offer to stomp my toe so that I would forget about the first pain I was having. (You'd just have to know him--cut up!!) Anyway, I guess something like that has happened to me now as an adult. I have been posting on here about how anxious and impatient I am about waiting to hear if my insurance will approve my WLS. Well.....I now have a bigger pain to worry about. Last week, one of our really tall pine trees came crashing into my dining room ceiling! It happened durnig a thunderstorm at around 7:00 in the morning. My oldest had just got on the bus to school and I was waking the little one (20 mos) to get her ready for daycare. Funny thing is that my husband had fallen asleep on the sofa and jumped up when he heard the noise and got tangled in the blanket and fell flat on his face!! I am tellin' ya-- haven't had much of a chance to worry about WLS since then! Ain't life funny that way?!?!?! Madonna

Lady Madonna, children at your feet.... I always offer to pinch my hubby when he hurts somewhere so he'll forget about the original hurt....he never, ever takes me up on it.... YIKES!!!! I hope the damage isn't too serious to your house and it will get fixed soon. I just HATE it when God shows me that there are bigger worries than what I what to fixate on..... Smoochies Arlies

Thank you Arlies! No major damage was done but we do have a hole that the roof guys have put a tarp on for now. Trouble is.... it has to dry out before they can go in and repair. This requires at least three dry days. As luck would have it, it has honestly rained about every three days since this happened! UGGGGGH!!! Now water is leaking into house. We have a pan to catch the water. Feel like Beverly Hillbillies before the 'Texas Tea' Could have been worse....no one hurt and nothing that can't be fixed. God just wanted to remind me whose in control!! My worries should be in his hands....too often I try to give things to Him and then take them right back! Madonna

Yikes! That sounds like NO fun at all. I remember one Christmas eve we were woken up by a big pine tree in our house. It was our first Christmas in the house. UGH! Came right into our sons room - thank goodness he was sleeping with us!!! Since then we have never declined our kids when they want to sleep with us. LOL Hope you get the hole fixed soon. I know it's no fun! HUGS Kimberly

Thanks, Kimberly! We are just battling the weather at this point- just waiting on things to dry out! But, just to top it all off- my dishwasher and icemaker both quit earlier this week & on the same day to boot! Makes me wonder if I am in the right house!! Madonna
