I HAVE AN INSCIONAL HERNIA
Hey everybody!
Well its official, I went to Dr. Vinson ( the doc who took my gallbladder out, my WLS surgeon is too far away) and he confirmed that I have a hernia. He says it would be in my best intrest to wait until I get to my goal weight to have it repaired. He says the excess weight could tear it open again if I do it now, and since I had so much infection with the WLS, he says that bacteria could still be there and he wants to make absolutely sure its completely gone. He said if he used 'mesh' to repair it and that bacteria was there, it could be an awful mix. So I trust what he says. He is still going to monitor me to make sure it doesnt cause a blockage or anything. The down side? He will have to cut me open again. He says if he tries to fix it with a scope it will be really hard because of all the scar tissue left from the gastric bypass and the gall bladder surgery. Ya'll just pray that this doesn't turn into a blockage. And I can get by until I get down to 147, (my ideal weight) I have 94 pounds to go.
Talk to yall later

Yeah mine pokes out too, on my right side... When I lay down I feel it. Even when im sitting at my desk at work I feel the pressure of it poking out. Sometimes its down right painful. It bulges really bad when I walk. I really want to start doing aerobics, but im afraid it will damage it more. My hernia is probably half the length of my inscision. It pokes out about 2 1/2 to 3 inches higher than my other side. I have never had a hernia, I think I got it from picking up my daughter, she weighs about 40 pounds.
