i'm a new kid on the block!!!
Hello everyone
My name is Tonya and i'm from Forest Mississippi. I have just decided to have the procedure done. I started my journey with the seminar on Dec 5. I have lots of friends here at work that have had it done and have had much success with it. I just wanted to drop in and say hello and introduce myself. I have been hanging around and looking at some of the post and before and after pics... WOW at the transformations I have seen. I hope this is the answer for me. I am sooooooo miserable like I am now. I have 2 boys and I want to be around for them for a long time to come. Well will check back later .... ya'll have a nice day..... Tonya
Hello Tonya! I am a new kid too! I am from Fulton,MS and have began the process just recently. Right now, I am waiting on approval from my insurance company. I am just on pins and needles!!
Anyway, please keep posting. I find comfort and strength in seeing what others have been through. From what I can tell, this is a very supportive group and very encouraging. That's what it's all about for me...not feeling like I am in the boat alone!!

Hello to both you new posties....Thanks so much for sharing your info...I'm relatively new to the board (few months), but had gastric bypass (with Dr. King) about two years ago. Had to wait a good long time myself for approval, but finally had surgery and it was well worth it...So, good luck to you, and let us know how you are progressing through approval and surgery and such. It is always encouraging to me to keep up with others "making the journey" .... D.

Hey Newby from Forest!!! Glad to have you as part of the family. Please come back often and post lots and long!!!! Which Docs are you using in Jackson? I live near the reservoir.....maybe we can meet up when you come over sometime. I was living in Conehatta, but we had'ta move closer to my hubby's work. I had my surgery Jan 11, 2005 and am down, at last weigh in, about 208 lbs. Ask us questions, feel free to whine, or shout or whatever!!!! Keep in touch with us!!!

Welcome to our family. This board is full of information and everyone is helpful. If you ever have a question, post it and in you will have an answer pretty quick. Best of luck with your journey, and if I can be of any help, give me a shout. I had my surgery on March 1, 2005 weighing in at 240 pds, and now I am 9 months post op and have lost 113 pounds. I feel really good and am very proud of my success.

I have been waiting patiently sometimes for this to happen with me. I have been approved from my insurance co since the 7th of Oct. i am still waiting on Jeannie and that staff to get it together. I am not so patient today. I have a very large ded. for insurance and if I don't have the surgery before Jan. 1 I will have to pay the ded again. I have met it and It would be payed 100% now. sorry just venting. Please keep on top of things it is easy to fall through the cracks and get lost in the system.

Ya know its kinda ironic. I just got through reading your help post. I will stay on things. I just got started so i know it will be a good 6 weeks before i get my letter from insurance but i do know they cover it. i just have to pay copays. my insurer is united healthcare. well i hope that things happen for you really soon. i know it can be frustrating. oh im planning on using Dr. Cummins in the same office with Dr. Cleveland. well thanks for the words of encouragement and feel free to vent anytime. this is the place to do it among friends... tonya
