Hi all. Hate to ask for BAD help but I am in dire need of some good and easy to make candy recipes. Now that I am single, I am short of funds this Christmas and want to make little goodie bags for teachers and coworkers! Anyone have anything to help me with. Don't suggest Fantasy Fudge b/c I tried that today and it is super crumbly. I cannot get that right!!! Thanks, Kitsy

easy easy.....Walmart - Almond bark (white) $1.50....comes in 1.5 pound package, but only need 1 pound. Melt one pound (8 squares) in bowl stir in one bag reeces pieces (whole large bag) 2 cups dry roasted peanuts spread this onto a cookie sheet that has been greased (with butter, or little vegetable oil, or Pam), or onto wax paper lined cookie sheet. Place in freezer for 5 minutes, then break into pieces....makes a "festive" looking candy (my husband LOVES this candy, and I love that it only takes a few minutes to make. Friend of mine for the holidays melts the white almond bark, stirs in peppermint (broken with meat hammer), spreads it thin on wax paper, freezer 5 minutes, then breaks. This one is very holiday-ish....Good luck.

you are single????? What happened to Vince Gil????? Oh, no!!!!!!!!! I am so sorry to hear this. But it is good to see your shining post on here for a change!!!! As for the recipes, buy a bag of Splenda and make some of the old sugary candy with it.....I don't make candy so I really don't have any suggestions as to what to make....but I do like fudge!!!! You might want to check Susan Maria's site, www.bariatriceating.com for some ideas....everything she does is great! Or check with Tootere....She has a recipe in this issue of her newsletter, Bariatric Bytes, with marishino cherries, rum, and chocolate.....um........sounds good except for the rum ....Do you need me to email you the news letter? O, wait, how's this....... Tooter's EZ Chocolate Covered Maraschino Cherries 1 jar of maraschino cherries, drained - refill to the top with Bacardi Golden Rum. Put in the fridge for about a week to age them. You can do this sugar-free or regular. 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips or baking pieces (Hershey's has these in sugar-free and calls them chunks) 1 tablespoon shortening Melt chocolate and shortening in a double boiler - I do it in a metal bowl resting over a pot of simmering water - don't let the bottom of the bowl "touch" the water though. Drain cherries, dry on a paper towel (dry them VERY well - moisture will make your chocolate seize up), and then with a toothpick dip each cherry into the chocolate and set on waxed paper to dry. They are soo awesome - they keep in the fridge for 3 months or longer if tightly sealed. Do not freeze! Hint: I save the "rum-juice' from the cherries after I've used them. It's awesome added to a glass of Diet 7-Up. Very pretty and tasty! Smoochies Arlies

Look on th emagazine racks at the check outs at Walmart for a recipe book from Pillsbury titled " cookie dough"" easy cheap ways to doll up a roll or two of cookie dough. The book is about $3.95. But well worth it. glenda was 391 now 140 and holding for about 3 months

Pretzel sticks dipped in white or dark chocolate and covered with sprinkles or chpped nuts. wrap a few in plastic and tie with a ribbon. You could get cheap pretty spoons and do the same way as the pretzels with packets of hot chocolate and a cup . Reindeer food is cheap and easy, use the Chex party mix or make your own and throw in some m&m's,raisins or other small candy. Bag and tie with a ribbon. I have some more ideas I will try to post later ... The bell rang for class.....
