Our church is having a Christmas party for the kids at the Baptist Children's Village near here tomorrow. We're supposed to bring finger foods and Christmas goodies. Any suggestions on what I could bring that I could eat? I can't decide. Thanks for any help! Deborah 284/222/135

Im not sure about for kids but stuffed eggs are good. And chicken salad is good for you to eat. Maybe some peanuts or hey! peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are good. Arlies I believe makes peanut butter and jelly in a flour tortilla and you could always coo them off and slice them up into the little rings. I am not sure what you can eat right now. Maybe this will help. Thin sliced ham with a pickle spear inside is good with a toothpick thru it. mmmmm let's see-- I don't think I am helping too much. cheese cubes and crackers...I love popcorn too. It is carbs but pretty low fat. Great fiber. I do veggies well but the kids may not go for raw veggies. Apple wedges with that caramel dip. Hope this gives you an idea. Jane

You have to go easy on these, but they are great. These are the only things that I can think of right now. Ham & Cream Cheese Roll-ups Cheese Ball with Ritz Crackers Tammy

I know I am probably late on this but there is this dip like thing that I like to make and I havent met anyone who didnt like it. I didnt come up with it but I will share it: 2 boxes of cream cheese 2 things of green onions 2 jars of dried beef (found in tuna section) Chop up the beef and the green onions and stir into the cream cheese chill for about an hour and serve with sociable crackers and its really good. Also if you like nuts you can make it in a ball and roll in over nuts and have a really good cheese ball. Dont make this overnight and leave it though - the beef gets real salty.

PEANUT BUTTER AND SUGAR FREE JELLY ROLLUPS!!!! The kids don't have to know that the jelly is sugar free. Smear the pb and J on a tortilla, roll it up and cut it into slices about 1/2 inch thick. They will get eaten up!! Also with tortillas, cream cheese them and put ham, chicken, turkey, etc slices in them. Roll up and slice as pbj. I put these in my husband's lunch sometimes and he LOVES them. For him, I put a tad of lettuce, roasted red pepper, onion, etc. a nice pickle in the middle would be good too. And kids LOVE cheese. Just give them chunks of it....or chunks of fruit....and you'd be surprised how many kids eat celery with pb in the middle and raisons (for the bugs on the log) on top and baby carrots with ranch dressing. And deviled eggs! I am getting hungry....think I need some breakfast! Smoochies Arlies

Thanks, everyone, for your ideas. They were all great! I got hungry just reading them. I think I'm going to take some of the PB & J rolls and maybe some stuffed eggs for me. I ate out after church today and used my WLS card that the doctor had given me for the first time. It allowed me to order some grilled catfish off the kids menu and a baked potato with cheese. It tasted really good, but I couldn't eat but about half of it. I may just take the rest to church for my supper, instead of fooling with the eggs. I just discovered FitDay.com. It's going to be great in helping me see just how much protein and carbs I'm getting. If you haven't checked it out, you may want to. Have a nice Sunday, everyone! Deborah 284/222/135
