DRUGS THAT CAN DAMAGE THE POUCH

In our support group meeting last night some folks werent aware that we arent suppose to have some of these drugs... Yall be careful what you are swallowing... Advil Aleve Amigesic Anacin Anaprox Ansald Anthra-G Arthropan Ascriptin Aspirin Asproject Azolid Bextra Bufferin Butazolidin Celebrex Clinorial Darvon compounds Disalcid Dolobid Erythromycin Equagesic Feldene Fiorinal Ibuprofin Indocin Ketoprofen Lodine Meclomen Midol Motrin Nalfon Naprosyn Nayer Orudis Oruval Pepto-Bismol (contains aspeiin) Pamprin-IB Percodan Ponstel Rexolate Tandearil Tetracycline Tolecin Uracel Vioxx (off market...not safe for anyone) Voltaren ALL "NSAIDS"

At my six month visit with Dr. Whitehead he told me to start taking Aleve for my arthritis pain in my knee. I have been taking it, and it helps tremendously. Surely he would not have told me to take it if it was unsafe. Susan

Thats strange that he told you that cause Janet told me NO NO NO... Never! May have to in certain situations though.

I had to drop mobic and any aspirin containing meds prior to surgery, but I have a friend in Meridian who was allowed to continue on her mobic after surgery....Guess it depends, tho on what I dunno....I can and do take arthritis strength tynelol (Walmart brand), but can only take 1/2 the dosage the bottle says....I take one in the am and one in the pm and it's the first thing that has helped my knees in AGES!!!! (My Doc told me not to exceed 650 mgs on tynelol per dosage due to the possiblity of liver damages...) The reason for no aspirin containing meds (Aleve) per my Doc is that it increases the risk of ulcers. Smoochies Arlies
