okay so my carbs still are high but i really think it is due to the fruit i am having do you guys think it is bad to have 3 servings of fruit or either 2 a day? Since fruit is natural sugar I dont look at it as being that bad what do you guys think? Anywoo I hope you all have a wonderful day. Oh yeah I will drink at least 80 oz of water day and work out for 40 min tonight

wow I just got slammed for posting our calories stuff that was givin to Christine by dr carsons. it was the gastric bypass support on msn. They say we are consumming way way too many carbs and we should be getting way more protein than carbs. wtf? I mean hell it did come from dr carsons. Guess this just goes to prove that every surgeon post op diet is different. And you know how do these people think you cant get more carbs than protein . every freaking thing you put in your damn mouth has carbs in it but not protein in some cases. I mean they must be preparing every bit of morsel that goes in their mouth towards protein. They say your carb intake should be half of your protein intake. They are just not being relistic in my opion! here is the link if you want to read it.

Well that is what he gave me. Of course that is for your 2 fruit servings a day which is high and for all your gren vegetables. That doesnt mean go out and eat 6 peices of bread.
I read the posts and they said that is opposite of what their surgeon gave them.. I prefer to listen to the nutritionist when it comes to nutrition. You know Dr. Carsons is very knowledgable.
You SHOULD have at least 2 servings of fruit per day - that alone is close to 30 carbs or more depending on what fruit you eat. You can try to cut it in half if you want.
Email Dr. Carsons. I would like to know what he says. Better yet... Wonder when the next seminar is.. Do you know if it is next week like usual?
I would like to go again to the seminar. We can gang up on him. Maybe he will be at the meeting on Monday... You are coming, right?
Did Janet call you last week? She called me and said they were doing a thing in the lobby - a thing - hell I cant think of the word-- anyone she asked if she could put my before and afters on it. I told her she could. Oh yea, a display. I gotta go by and see it. haha... She was supposed to send me the before and afters and I havent gotten them yet.
okay so just to be a ***** i posted back to those jack asses. lol lol told them the fruit you mentioned. either those people are not eating or i just dont know. I can not figure how in the world they are getting half the carbs of their protein. they must just be eating meat and cheese and eggs. lol lol

One Medium Banana has like 30 carbs in it... One Medium apple has 25 or so carbs in it.
We have to have carbs. I could be wrong but if all we ate was meat and eggs and cheese then we are getting zero carbs and we need some.
I may be wrong and misunderstood Dr. Carson's but I think he knows what he is talking about and I am fine with my weight loss. I am at goal and been here and holding on for almost 6 mos.
I think when we revert back to the zero carbs we are doing the whole Atkins thing and we really dont need to be on any kind of "diet"... Melissa has a list of good for us carbs and a list of bad for us carbs... Maybe she will post them.
"Diets" fail. A healthy eating style for life does not. I have to agree with you on the carbs. When you go cutting carbs and food groups that is not healthy and defeats the purpose of having surgery. If I could stay on the Atkins Diet forever and it was good for you then why would I need WLS. Dr. Carsons knows exactly what he is talking about and most articles I have ever read agree or side with what he has told us. We need the nutrients and benefits that all food groups provide. It is not so much about the quantity of carbs in your day but the quality. If you are getting your carbs from fruits, veggies, and beans then that is okay. But you do not want to get them from processed foods, sugar, and white breads and pastas. That is just like putting garbage in the body. I did read that you want protein amounts a good bit higher than carbs for optimal weight loss and for keeping metabolism reved up and to keep from having ups and downs in insulin levels which can cause cravings. If your protein amounts are not a good bit above the carbs you may want to snack more due to rises and crashes in insulin levels. That may be the reasoning behind what they are saying.
Anyway, I think we are doing fine. Why mess with a good thing? If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?

Well I learned something today I didn't know. I didn't know that about how your protein level will cause the cravings. Uh now I have something more to work with. That was the 1 downfall about Dr King he didn't send me to a dietician or anything. He just said what I could and couldn't have.

D~3/4 of a filet migon, 1/4of a crawfish & crab stuffed tater, and 2 crab stuffed mushrooms!!! yum and uhhhhhhggggggggggggg, i'm stuffed!!
i drank about 30 oz of water and i took my vits. i worked out at curves too!
