does anyone not feel like they get full? or over eat and get sick
Some days you may feel hungrier than others. Sometimes I feel like I want to eat all the time then other days just cannot choke down a bite or two. Drinking fluids does help, I found that I can tolerate V-8 juice and sometimes I drink that instead of eating something. Over eating is easy when you first come home from surgery. If you imagine, 4 ounces is about the size of a deck of playing cards. Using this measure has helped me to not over eat (most of the time) but a few times I have over ate unintentionally and boy what a tummy ache!!!!!
Hi Lisa - feeling hungry is a little different for us. Before the surgery, sometimes we would feel hungry for a number of reasons - bordom, emotional upset, cravings - or maybe we were really hungy. But your body will also stimulate hunger if you are nutrition deficient in some way. Make sure that you are getting the multivitamin, calcium and B-12 (whatever your doctor established routine is), then push the water. If you still feel hungry snack smart and know why you are reaching for a snack. You are doing GREAT! REmember, you are supposed to enjoy this new life - let the surgery work for you as much as you work the surgery. Keep up the good work, james.
