Strange pains?
I dont know if these pains I'm having are WLS related or not but i thought i'ld see what ya'll smart folks think. I"ve been having this painfull pulling sinsation on my lower left side, about even with my belly button, but on my side. this happens after i eat and has been going on for a few days. AND NO I dont think its gas!!!!!!!!! It happens weither i over eat or not and no matter what i eat. Any ideas i have a dr appt with some dude in Moblie next monday. Thanks in advance I know somebody on here can tell me what the problem is! DAWN
Do you have your gall bladder? Just a thought. It doesn't really sound like that. Gall bladder is usually higher and can even smother you. Could be an ovary thing. Have you been going to the bathroom regular? Make sure you are not compacted. I hope you get to feeling better. I will find out exactly what my problem is on Wed morning after my test. Keep us posted.

That tends to be where the deepest incision is and where they brought the outlet of your stomach up to. I had a pain there lots of times during first year after surgery, and now every now and then when I eat now. Could be just pulling from stomach full and such, OR, sometimes I have heard and learned from my doc that that is where the outlet to your new stomach can prolapse in, called an internal hernia. I was afraid I had that, but took over-the-counter Prilosec, and pain seemed to go away, so mine was not that. Those are the only things I personally know about, might want to call your doc's office and talk to them this coming week.
Thanks DeAnna, thats kinda what i was thinking myself, i sure hope it isn't a hernia. I have been lifting heavy furniture and things , so i wont be surprised. I wish i could call my Dr,i guess that they got blown away by the hurricane too! I'm going to see a new Dr in moblie on the 31st so hopefully it will wait.I have also been taken prilosec and the pain is still there. Like just now i only drank my protein shake and a small one at that and im having some pain , its not unbareable, but its pain , but then again i guess i handle pain better than most as i didnt use any pain meds after surgery. It might even be an ovary thing i have just recently started using a otho cyceylne birth control patch, hmmmmmm maybe that thing is doing it!! Thanks again, DAWN
Hey Dawn
Yeah I'm back in town.. finally. I'm thinking stricture here. Don't think it's your gallbladder, just doesn't sound like the same pain. If you have these pains a lot and it keeps getting worse, try calling that doctor you're supposed to see on the 31st and try to get them to fit you in earlier. If it's a stricture,it's an outpatient thing for them to stretch it, from what i hear, no biggie at all. Strictures happen a lot and for no reason or can't be prevented. I'm just lucky I've never had one but heard plenty about them.
Take care and I'll get in touch with you in a few days. Gotta go back to NOLA tomorrow for a follow up so I'm still busy as can be but hopefully I can get over to your house this week
