Hi Everyone, this is Melynda Han**** I have not been on the Board since last year, but wanted to update you on my progress, so here goes... Had RNY surgery last October weighing 367 pounds. Present weight is 179 with a loss of 191 pounds. Dr. Salameh at University was my Doctor. I think he is wonderful and would recommend him to anyone. I think I have been a success story whereas I really haven't had a lot of problems other than vitamin deficiencies and feeling tired a good bit. I have been employed with MS Blood Services Mobile Services Division since last March and the job has kept my constantly active and moving around which I feel has helped a lot with the successful weight loss. My hours with the job are so drastic that I haven't been on the computer much to stay in touch with all of you. I will be going to the Obesity Clinic on the 28 to have everything checked out and hopefully they can assist me with the tiredness I have been feeling. Honestly, I have not been back to the Doctor since last year so I am welll overdue for a checkup. Have any of the rest of you experienced extreme fatigue and tiredness? A special hello to Arlies. Email me and let me know how you have been and where in Brandon you live. Maybe we can get together one day and visit since I too live in Brandon.

Wow, 191 !!!! I had surgery about two years ago, lost down to about 175 or 170 (about a size 12-14) from 297 (size 22-24), but have gained weight this summer, not exercising as I should, feeling weak and tired, which feels like HUNGER and so I eat more thinking this will take the tiredness away....Might be a little vitamin deficiency also. Anyway I'm sure a vitamin deficiency can make you tired and fatigued. Hope your doc can help with that. Please let us know what he says. (I'm overdue for a doctor visit also). I am vowing to get back on the exercise program this week, new start and such....Thanks for posting.

DeAnna, How long did you continue to lose after your first year was up? I notice having a hard time still keeping food down which probably also contributes to the fatigue. I also was a dummy this week and donated blood for the first time and almost passed out a few times. I may think twice about doing that again for awhile. Looks like you did really well with yours. Good luck with the exercise program. You Can Do IT!!!!!

Hey, well, I lost real well (or good) for about 1.5 years, but like I said, I was exercising ALOT and then none. But am having a little luck at it, thanks for the encouragement! I can still wear mostly 16's and some 14's, not anywhere near the 22/24 I was in. I have been upping the water and protein shakes.....etc... By the way, my doctor and staff said I was to NEVER give blood again EVER. We do seem to have a problem with blood volume as a result of the surgery. I always gave blood before, but not anymore.

Melynda, I get tired sometimes when I have not had my B12 shot. I give myself a shot of B12 every 3 1/2 weeks. My doctor wrote me a script for one year's worth. I think the prescription cost me about $10.00 for the whole year. Sonya

Thanks Sonya, I am going to see if they will let me start getting the shots for sure when I go to the Doctor. My job is so high energy I need to do something. I can stick other people daily to draw their blood, I don't know if I can do it to myself or not. lol
