Introduction for those newbies
My name is Beth Lawrence. I had a non-adjustable gastric band in 1996. Lost 200# but have recently gained 50# back. Currently I am working on getting insurance approval for a revision to the RNY. I have attended the seminar and have had the majority of the pre-op testing. Dr. Cleveland is my doctor of choice in Jackson, MS even though I had my original surgery in Houston, TX. (In 1996, you were forced to travel to other states because there were not many Gastric Doctors performing these surgeries) Boy, has time changed. Anyway, Queen Arlies thought I needed to intro myself so that everyone would know who I was. Arlies, I also just figured out how to add my picture which might throw everyone since I have been posting for years without the mug!!!
If anyone would like to know what the future is like, I am always available for chit chat! I will also be attending the get together so each of you can meet me in person.
Thanks,
Beth

Hi Beth.
Welcome to the board, glad to have you ! Wow, you're nine years post op from your first surgery, there's gotta be a wealth of information that comes along with that !! It truly helps to have the longer posties here to let us others know what we're looking forward to in the future.
I hope you get approval for your revision. I'm very satisfied with my decision to have had RNY and I'm truly thankful that I was able to do this. My life has changed so much for the better, I am active again and I've vowed to never go back to the old habits, although the last few weeks have been challenging. I gained back a few pounds and got rattled by that, so now I'm again reading the pouch rules every morning to remind myself that I don't want to go back where I came from. At times, struggling with the old habits is really tough on me.
So anyways, welcome to our board again, and I hope we see lots of you around here !!! {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}

Thank you for the nice compliments. I truly love my hair. It grows by leaps and bounds. I look forward to meeting everyone and talking about our journeys. I must agree with everyone....the changes after losing weight outways the pains that we wenty through in the surgery! I LOVE BEING A LOSER!!!!
See ya soon!
Beth

Hey, welcome aboard. I'm kind of new myself to the MS board. Had surgery two years ago, minus about 110. Starting to put on a few pounds, though, just not exercising and eatin WRONG. But really looking forward to getting back on track (reading the pouch rules and following), and EXERCISING is the key for me it seems. When I exercise I eat better and lose inches/pounds, when I am not exercising I am weak and hungry...Anyway, I love to hear from other people on here and how it's going for them, so thanks for posting. Hope to meet you and others on here at the park.
PS - Surgery was wonderful for me too, well surgery made me sore for a few days, and a little tired for a few weeks, but the changes have been amazing and well worth it.....
