About the Morton get-together....

Folks, I have really been thinking about this alot. I know most of us are pretty tight financially right now and I was thinking maybe we should rethink this thing.......... Why don't we all bring games we love....Scrabble, Parcheesi, Monopoly (), cards, twister, Uno, Bingo, etc, etc, etc....and make it a gigantic play day? I will even play Shoots and Ladders with the little folks!!! I will play anything except Twister and Monopoly.....Monopoly I HATE and well, just use your imagination with Twister!!!! My funds are very, very short (much shorter than anticipated and much shorter than normal right now......several things have come up, that have kinda cleaned us out....) and I really do not have the extra funds to buy prizes and candies......Plus should we be making candy bags for the kiddies???? This is just something to think about. If you guys want to keep it the way it is, then we will need some monied folks to step up to bat and purchase prizes and goodies. And PLEASE don't think I am just being cheap - I already gots $150 invested in the room - I just can't afford more right now......And since Jay and Rhonda were gonna do the hotdogs and stuff....maybe since they have lost so much, we could just go potluck again, but PLEASE don't let your eyes be bigger than your tummy so we don't have lots of food go to waste. I love to play cards... The kids dont really need anything. I think it should just be a day to visit and have a good time. Pot luck.. no prizes needed or anything like that. Bring lawn chairs and cards with maybe a alittle music.. we will be good to go. A good ole country get together works for me.. Besides-- we all need to relax.. just visit... Let the kids go off and play amongst themselves. It'll be fun.

Count me in either way. Like Christine said play games(NO MONOPOLY FOR ME EITHER) and visit. I'm sure we have some musically talented people! I really think candy sends the wrong message to the kids, but then I don't have any little ones. Tomanip

I agree with Christine. It's about the socializing anyway. We don't have to do anything fancy lets just relax and have fun. Pot luck sounds great. It was fine before. We might want to do a list so we have a good variety. If I can help with anything else let me know. I too don't have much money to invest but I will help what I can. Becky

However you guys decide to do things, I am all for it. We will be there with bells on and ready to party! I love you all so much and can't thank you all enough for being so generous and caring in my time of need. The AF legal office is kind of screwing us around right now about our claim. UGGGGHHHH... They are not wanting to pay me for all of my stuff, and it is really ticking me off. They will pay me one way or another, I hope I do not have to resort to getting a lawyer though. Anyhow, I think everyone is going through problems with insurance and stuff around here. I can't wait until the Oct. Bash, time much needed away from this place. Love ya and can't wait to see all of you. P.S. Arlies, the hospital here is closed for a while, that is why you can't get a hold of Lisa, they had a lot of water in the hospital but they are working daily to get it back up and running, it will take months though. Tell me again when this is to take place. I am planning to be there and I will help any way I can. You just have to tell me what I need to do. I know it is to be at Roosevelt, but I am not sure about the dates and times. By the way, I hit the century mark this week. As of Monday, I have lost 102 pounds and still have 7 weeks until my six month check-up. I talked to my nurse in Gulfport this week and the clinic is supposed to open back up around the third week on October. Let me hear from you!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds great, Morton is just a hop, skip and jump from Canton!! I have been chatting on this site for years....9 to be exact and look forward to finally meeting everyone. I must agree with Arlies, money is much tighter these days. Gas prices are soaring and food prices are right there with them. Anyway, I think Pot Luck will be great, I don't eat much and I think most will be in the same boat with me. Will there be name tags?
