loose bowel
Fredrica, I had a similar problem just after surgery. I was on liquids and so there wasnt anything to stop having loose bowel movements! A couple of times I didnt make it and oops had to clean up! When I started my protein drinks I used Isopure NO CARB, it has no sugar in it. I mixed it with a little water and ice cubes and whizzed it up in the blender. I could not drink juice of any kind, it really set me on fire (toilet) Later, I tried a little no fat milk and blended it with the isopure and it worked ok for me.
Your daughter can buy Isopure at GNC in the mall. It is a bit expensive but lasts a long time. I cannot drink the slimfast stuff at walmart. Tried but I dumped cause it has toooooo much sugar! You also can try Chicken noodle soup, just strain off the noodles and have the broth. I also had potato soup, no milk, just potatos cooked to mush with a lot of water and a little chicken stock. Anything too creamy sent me running or I felt like gagging.
Sugar free popcycles work good too. Dont worry about your protein intake now, you have to get the system under control first........It takes time and patience, I kind of equate it with feeding a new born baby. They take 2 ounces every 2 hours, and your tummy is like a newborn's, same size!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope this helps!!!!!
Darling Darling Darling... Sweet Fedricka.. Avoid those shakes that are high in carbs and high in sugar. You need low carbs and low sugar. Dont expect real bowel movements cause you are on pure liquids and there is nothing "real" to make a "real" bowel. WHen I was first out in my journal I was obsessed with my bowels. I wanted to go and I wanted to go NOW. When you get on more solid foods your bowels will not be so runny unless you are dumping and then its like diahreah.
What are you drinking thru the day? Did u get some different shakes? You gotta read the labels. LOW CARB LOW SUGAR - by low I mean like less than 3.
