I posted this on the 21st in the Lap-Band forum and wanted to share it with all my neighbors in Mississippi...
I CAN'T BELIVE HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS BAND...
I really thought I would have a hard time keeping too the restrictions and exercise. But the opposite happened. I love to work out and the more I lose the more I want to see whats next. My biggest problem right now is those evil little things called Butterfingers. They just go down so darn easy and they NEVER get stuck...figures.
Anyway...one year ago today I stepped onto the Dr.'s scale for my pre-op weight and was 405 pounds...34 pounds from my all time high. I had started walking 2 months before and gone on the Slim-Fast diet to get my weight down for surgery. I did better than I ever had and it really gave me the confidence I needed going into the surgery.
I joined the gym in January and my family is just stunned that I look forward to going. If I stay out of town at there house I get nervous because I can't get to the gym. They've never seen me like this...even in high school when I played football. I just wanted share for all the newly banded and those looking into it that it does work but you have to put in you part. If I get lazy or don't get my protein and water like I'm supposed to then I don't lose anything. Good luck everyone and lets keep losing. I want everyone to feel free to email me...I probably don't have all the answers but I know how to listen when things get tough.

WOW!!! Rusty you are doing AWESOME!!!! I am so glad you are doing well with your lap band. STEP AWAY FROM THE BUTTERFINGERS!!!! That's one of the good things about RNY - MOST of us are afraid of sugar cause we get so sick on it!!!!! I hope you will keep us informed of your progress! Post often and long!!!
