Well, if you look at it in their perspective.. if your necessities include a purse and a boombox... it's also understandable why they looted stores for TVs and computers. Obviously their priorities are different than ours??????????
Yeah it's ridiculous. That's why I fear, one day, the goverment will say "you know.. the heck with this. Help yourself" to those *****ally need it and put it to proper use. One bad apple spoils it for the rest of the bunch.
Welcome to the welfare system. And shame on those abusing it. I'm sure those other cities who have opened their doors to the refugees are happy 
to have inherited those few problemchildren New Orleans got rid of

I know one thing for sure, that if I were to receive $$ when I did not lose anything, I sure would not be able to live with myself. And, if I can't live with myself...who could I live with!! LOL Because one day, I hopefully will be meeting with St. Peter, and he of course one definitely bring it up, and how could I answer him??

Well many of my friends have applied to FEMA for help with food. I don't think I will because I didn't loose that much and I rent. There are people that have lost there homes and everything in them that need that money. If people suck it all up just because they can scam someone what if any will be left for people that really need it.
I work out at the Navy base in Meridian. Fema had a headquaters here during Katrina. They were useless. The just left and left tents behind and other stuff for someone else to take care off. It was like we are not needed here and walked away from it all. Now we are trying to get back to normal and it is hard.
