Michelle; Can you go to your primary care doc. and have him write something for you. Mine was able to give me one for the documentation of diet and exercise. Hopefully that is what they want. Good luck. I will keep you in my prayers. Stephanie

I hope that you can get this worked out. Did you ever just go to your primary care doc and have him document your weight with follow up visits to try and lose. Sometimes this is enough. Ever take phen-phen, redux, etc? Get those records. Not sure if diet clinics works, but if you've ever done WW or Jenny Craig...get those records. I swear, this "12 month" rule makes me sick! It's just the insurance company's way of stalling - figuring you'll change your mind and be too lazy to stick it out! Well, hon ---- YOU SHOW THEM! You may have to wait, and wait, and wait, but regardless, it will be worth it in the end if this is what you want to do. Don't back down and give 'em hell! Hope this helps.... HUGS Kimberly

Dont give up... Do what they request and then they wont have any reason to deny you. Get your doctor to write a letter. I wrote mine and my OB signed it. I didnt want to make it too difficult for him. Are you a member of any gym? Have them give you printouts of your membership info and any time you met with a trainer or anything the trainer gave you. My sister met with a trainer 1 time and he gave her an outline of what to do and how often. She turned this in to insurance and they accepted it as proof of exercise. Good luck to you!

Hi Michelle, I had the same thing happen. I was on Atkins for over a year and belonged to an Atkins Message Board and we posted our weights weekly. They accepted it. Have you ever done anything like that? Don't give up, we will be praying for you. I had to jump through major hoops but I did not let them get the best of me, I kept digging and faxing until I gave them exactly what they needed (or they approved me to get me to stop faxing them LOL) Sue 273/261/216/150

If you have been to the doctor and been instructed to diet and lose weight, that would count. Can't your doc go back thru the records and come up with more than a year? I betcha he/she can. Find out!!! Love ya to bits and back! Smoochies Arlies
