I know that people are overwhelmed with other things but just could not resist posting this. For the 8 years I have been here in Hong Kong, I have never bought any clothing in the Mall. It was all too small. On Friday after work, I decided to go to a British Dept store, Marks and Spencer to see IF I could wear anything they had. Joy! I bought 5 shirts and they fit great!!!! US size 16!!!!! I was sooooo thrilled!!!!! I have lost 40 pounds now, am below 200, and cannot believe how different I am looking. I guess your mind concept and body concept just take time to merge. I have a lot of adjusting to do...... Anyway, just wanted to share!!!!!

Cheryl, We're going to the Phillipines in Jan & Feb 2006. Don't know yet when my surgery will be, but discussed this with my new doc and he said it's ok. Just wondered how easy is it to get the protein ?

You will need to bring a insulated bag with things that you can eat, and frozen water bottles so you will always have stuff to drink. The flight will dehydrate you quite a bit and you will need to move around quite a bit. By the time that you have your surgery, and are over the tough part, 1st 2 or 3 months, you can eat quite a bit. The grocery stores carry a lot of US brands of things and there are chain restaurants you can go to for eating. You will have to be very careful of the hygene cause it is dirty there and in Asia, but if you pay close attention you should be fine! You can take along protein powder and buy a blender there, for your shakes if you need them......

Congrats Cheryl!! I 've been wearing baggy 20s, 18s & 16s for a while and a few 14s, with all the hectic and stress the last few weeks I haven't weighed myself, thinking I just probably gained ten pounds with eating nothing but snackfoods..... When I pulled size 14 clothes out of the closet and tried them on, THEY FIT !! So I took all my 20s, 18s and the few 16s that are too big and I put them into my donation bag for the folks at work who need them. Finally I have a place to even donate them where someone can get use out of those clothes. It's a lot slower now, but nonetheless, still losing ~Andie~ 15 months "out" -140 334/194/173 21 to go

That is SO awesome! I haven't had to go shopping...and that's the ONLY time I do it. I imagine that will change with time! My clothes are mighty loose, but I can still manage with them. I'm really counting on the kindness of friends, and strangers, to help with wardrobing my shrinking body! LOL For some reason I saved my whole winter wardrobe, but I know it's going to be way too big. Maybe big and baggy will be the "in" thing this year? I doubt I'd be so lucky though! LOL Glad you had a wonderful time! You're doing so AWESOME! HUGS Kimberly

I saved my winter clothes too and tried them on the other day. No way can I wear them, they swim on me. I wish shipping were cheaper, I would send them to others who need them, but the shipping is so expensive, I only saved the best to send home to my family. Even if Baggy isnt in, that will be me this year!!!! LOLO!!!!!
