Update from Wanda Weimer

Hey , I wanted to say thank you to everyone. I found a doctor to take my staples out . They could only take out half for now ,because of infection. Hopefully the meds will work I can get the others out next week. My hubby is staying in our house with no power and damage in MS. I'am still at my parents home in Baton Rouge,La. The insurance company came Thursday, so as soon as power is up they can start on our house. The hubby said that might be 2 more weeks. I'am thankful my house can be fixed, for the sound of my loved one voices. I don't think any of us will ever be th same. Wanda

Hey Wanda Glad to hear you're doing okay. I am home and our house is fine, we have power and water ( for showers etc ) and my employer is wonderful, they are furnishing food, water, for those with kids, they have diapers, formula, a tent city for those who have lost everything, assistance with all kinds of things, so we are extremely fortunate. Just wanted to say that things are slow over here, I have to use my work computer as we still have no cable , cable one isn't broadcasting from what I understand????? Good luck on the house, seems like power is about 75% restored around here, so your hubby should be able to get started soon. Staying where you are is really the important thing. We don't have any medical providers around that are able to assist, those who are, are scarce. I took a tetanus shot here at work just in case, most folks here are going to Baton Rouge or Mobile, even Pensacola for Medical Attention. Be safe, and take good care of yourself!!! That's important, for you to be 100% before getting back here into the "warzone". Hubby and I drove around the last few days. It's just unbelievable. Andie, You may be able to get Dish Network or Direct TV. I hear that they are at work installing stuff now. I am so glad that things are good and you are doing ok. I have thought about you and your situation many times since the storm. Wish I were closer and could help all of you more! Cheryl

Hey , Thanks Andie. I think if my hubby had power I would feel better about him being their. He misses us alot . I can tell in his voice. As we miss him too. What little I have spoke to anyone they all tell me the same thing it had to believe you are in the same place with all the damage. Wanda

I am glad you got those staples taken care of and that your house can be fixed! Hang in there girl, the infection will wear you down if you let it. Just remember the Queen has you in her sights and is hanging on tightly to you and yours! Love to you! Smoochies Arlies

I'am thankful every day that my house can be fixed . I'am alittle more tried than I was before. The dr. said that was because of the infection. It could be to that my son is still waking up in the middle of the night to see if I'am here. I think in time he will be alright . He is still not understanding about the three days the family couldn't find me. Thanks again. Wanda

Wanda, I am so glad that you found a doctor and are doing well. I am sure that the Meds will knock the infection out quick and you can progress healing! And, to get back into your own house is wonderful! I dont know how long my daughter will have to wait to go home to Kenner! They have experienced a tough situation, I hope the government does something this time to protect people more than before! Cheryl

Sorry to hear about your daughter. I think the waiting is the hardest part. And not being able to see my house. I have never been very good at waiting ,but I'am learning more everyday. Thank you and May God bless you and yours. Wanda
