Purple Twinkie Two checking in!

God is good! I'm sitting here crying as I type this after reading Karen's unbelievable, miraculous story! My heart just breaks for you Karen! I'm so glad you are all okay! We just got power about 30 minutes ago! We go****er back Sunday (Thank you God, I could flush the toilet w/out a bucket! Who thought that would be a luxury?! I do thank God that I HAVE a toilet to flush! Again, my heart goes out to our buds on the coast!) We have been living in our camper since Katrina (I also thank God that we had that and a generator!). We had shingles blow off the front side of our house and water started coming in the light fixtures and the ceiling fell in in the living room (along with gallons of water into my piano) John and I were able to get my new furniture (which I'm still paying for!) moved into the kitchen. The ceiling also fell in Jeremy's room (my 8 yr old) and the window blew out in Justin's room (my 4 yr old) and also had water damage. The carpet is also ruined in all of the above. BUT we're all alive and well!!! (AND we were wanting wood floors and I always wanted recessed lighting, so now is my opportunity!) We were in my closet when it all happened. Sonya! I've missed you girl! I saw you outside your house Tuesday or Wednesday after Katrina (all my days are running together) so I knew you were okay but I wasn't able to get you by phone. I'm so sorry about your cousin! My thoughts and prayers are with your whole family! We've been working non-stop at the bank since Thursday so I haven't been able to come by. I always look when I come by and I saw that your vehicles were gone. Call me tomorrow and we'll get together. I NEED the therapy of our walking! I've been eating whatever whenever w/all the stress! (Trying to stop!) I know my thoughts and words are dis-combobulated, but I'm just glad to be back and to hear all of you are okay! Are we missing anybody?

Hey Purple Twinkie Two!!!! I miss you so much!!! This has been a really tough two weeks. I do not know if you heard about John Easterling. He was helping friends with trees on their roof. There was pinestraw on a sky light and he did not see it. He fell but caught himself and was going to swing his leg back up so he could pull himself back up on the roof. Instead it spun his body. He landed on his head and was killed instantly. I work with his mom Libby Welch. She is one fine lady. She has been so strong. Keep her in your prayers. The funeral is tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. I should be at home after 1:00 p.m. Call me!!! Love you! Purple Twinkie One

It broke my heart when I heard about John. I was scared to death when my John was on the roof of our shed trying to put up tarps (walking on 2x4's) I had just heard about John Easterling. Tell his mother that she is in our prayers! I can't imagine what she's going through! I love you too girl! JY

Thank you Kimberly! Our adjustor came today and hopefully will have an estimate for us in the next few days! We went tonight and got roofing material (before it's all gone) and my husband is planning on doing it in the evenings this week. I have threatened his life if he tries to go up there by himself. You are such a sweetheart! I wish we didn't HAVE to redecorate too, BUT I'm just glad we have something to decorate and my family to decorate it for. We are pretty far from decorating right now. We pulled out the carpet and all the stuff yesterday (lots of mold and mildew). God's been good and we don't need anything right now. How are you by the way?! I've read to talking about everybody else, but I can't remember how you said your house and all did. Thanks again! JY

Hey, I am glad you and your family are okay. We have our power back and water. But still no cable or internet. So I have to sneak a peak at the board at work. I don't really have time to post replies to anyone. I miss being on here so bad. I hope to have cable and internet back in another week or two at home. And then I can be back in touch with everyone.
