Met w/Dr. Cleveland
It has been 9 LONG yrs. since I had my band surgery and now, after months of anquish, I finally met with Dr. Cleveland on 9/8/05. He was WONDERFUL. I must attend the seminar on 9/12/05 even though I could probably teach it and it looks like I may get an early Christmas present. Can you say REVISION? Met some wonderful people while in the office as well as the very friendly staff. One was 3 month post op., one was 1 year post op. and one was scheduled for Sept. 27th and had traveled from Natchez. Did the breath test and must say, got sick because it is hard after having surgery to drink so much so fast. Sorry about that! Just wanted everyone to know...sometimes after years of stuck walks, upchucks and a little weight gain, you must come to terms and see the doctor to make sure everything is still working properly. In my case it wasn't and a revision is necessary.

I had a revision in 2004 in Oxford. Has Dr. Cleveland done a lot of revisions? I know that when I was researching doctors who had performed a number of them that he was not one of them. Not trying to alarm you but the risks are higher with a revision.
Anyway, best of luck to you. I have done extremely well with mine. I hope you have the same outcome.

Kitsy,
I understand your concern about revisions. You are correct, revisions do carry a higher risks. I am Dr. Cleveland's nurse. Dr. Cleveland has performed many revisions over the past 3 years. He takes extra precautions. This is one reason that he asks patients seeking a revision to attend a seminar. We put that patient through everything a new patient would go through. We put them back in the system.
Research is definitely the answer. Anyone looking for a revision should research all possibilities, all surgeons, and choose the person that is right for you.
