House Destroyed living in Colorado

Well like many of you my house too was destroyed. We live in Waveland. The house is still standing but was demolished inside by the storm surge. I am now in Colorado and my son has started school here. My husband is back in Bay St Louis working at Stennis. We are unsure what we will do but rebuilding is out of the question. I am not going through loosing my house again and we only have 3 years in MS left. Hope you are all ok and I am praying for all. Take care

HI AMY, I KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE TO LOSE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE. THE HOUSE I GREW UP IN WAS STRUCK BY LIGHTENING AND IT BURNED TO THE GROUND IN LESS THAN 15 MINUTES. I WAS STILL LIVING AT HOME AT THE TIME, AND ALL OF OUR PICTURES, CLOTHES, FURNITURE, EVERYTHING WAS GONE.... JUST LIKE THAT. THANKFULLY WE ALL GOT OUT UNHARMED, BUT ALL WE HAD WAS THE CLOTHES ON OUR BACK. IT IS REALLY DEVESTATING. IF IT WERE NOT FOR THE KINDNESS OF OTHER PEOPLE HELPING US, I DON'T KNOW HOW WE COULD HAVE MADE IT. I DON'T BLAME YOU FOR NOT WANTING TO REBUILD. Amy, I am so sorry to hear about your house. I could not even start to imagine what you and so many others are going through. Do know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you all the time. Although I wasn't effected much from the storm it has changed my life alot. I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide to do. I will continue to pray for you and your family. Becky

Oh, I am so sorry about your house. I am hearing from lots of my coastal friends that they are not going back, not rebuilding, etc. I understand, but I LOVE BSL/Waveland, and I hate to see so many folks discouraged about it. Hopefully, things will work out in a great way for you. My niece worked at NAVO at Stennis and her job went with the storm. She lived in Picayune and her apartment was destroyed too. She has gone to Houston to try to get her old job back. Please don't lose contact with us - let us know how you are doing and what your plans are. We love you! Smoochies Arlies

Amy, I am sorry to hear that you too lost your house. These are trying times, and we need to stick together and help each other get through it. Please stay on this board and keep us updated on your progress and life. This storm took us all by surprise, yes, we knew that we had a hurricane coming our way, but none of us ever imagined that it would do to us what it did. Amy, I can't imagine what you are going through. I have seen alot about Waveland on television and it is just devistating. I am praying for you and your family. Michelle H.
