Some info from my DH for future reference:
as soon as disaster centers are up, go to them and contact all these:
unemployment
Fema
Small business association
Your Insurance people
You don't know yet what you'll need, register with them all you can cancell later, but that's better than registering later and being furthur down the list.
Check your insurance policy for displacement and living expenses.
DO NOT accept the first offer from the insurance company as it is usually low. Don't let them make you feel that they are doing you a favor- you've paid their salary for years.
IF you have difficulty, with your insurance co. call the State Insurance Commisoner of your State.
You will recover it just takes time!!!!
