Sonya, Hey, don't feel bad about the irritability it's normal, but realize that it's stress and you may need to qui****ching the devastation on TV so much. Get outside and walk if you can or some kind of exercise. If you feel more depressed and it gets to be too much check with your doctor. You may need a TEMPORARY anti-depressant. You're worried about your house, jobs, insurance, what you're gonna be able to do in the future, kids school etc, etc, etc, the list goes on and on. Also the loss of your cousin has compounded the depression. Some cousins are closer than sisters and brothers. They are all family and you are bound to feel the loss. Stop being so hard on yourself. If you've really been a b**** give a sincere apology to whoever and try to make amends. You're human honey, give yourself a break, and don't be to stubborn to use antidepressants. I'm on one and probably will be for the rest of my life but yours is situational and would be temporary. It does not blunt the reality but makes you more able to cope with the situation. You are in my prayers

Sonya, I have fallen apart several times since the hurricane. I have had my family and my brothers family with us constantly and he has 4 kids... Only 3 are with him right now but they are all under 9 and I am so used to just having my child. I have been ill and trying my darndest to keep my house clean even though we have no power. I have been sweeping the carpets and mopping almost everyday so that when the lights do come back on I wont be afraid to go in due to the stinch. Its crazy. My emotions are all over the place. My husband almost committed me one night.. haha... But, all is okay now. Hopefully when I get off of work my power will be on. Wouldnt that be wonderful! My poor daughter has caught my wrath many times. She is just bored and whiney and doesnt understand how hard it is right now trying to get everything in order to get things done. Once the lights are back on we can get back to normal and back in our routines and hopefully have some privacy back. Hang in there, girl. It will be okay.
