hey just a quick update from the road, our house is gone. collapsed totally and everything in it to include 2 cars... we have headed north up to Massachusetts to put the kids in school at my dads home and await word on what to do next... will keep checking the board to keep in touch... Eating on the road has been a challenge as well... refried beans and soups where we can find them... more later Ed and family via the great interstates of the U.S. P.S. the sight of endless national guard convoys on the road is quite impressive

Ed and Gena, Our love and prayers go with you and we're sorry to hear about your house and cars. We're very glad that you and kids are OK. Having lived up north a lot of my life I shivered when you said Massachusetts. It's beautiful in the winter but soooooooo cold. I've been down here for 37 years now so my blood has thinned , hope yours hasn't. Glad to hear about the Guard convoys: Please keep in touch.

Edward, I hate to hear this. I must have missed it earlier. Yes, the eating during this has been very very hard. I have weighed by candle light every morning and I am okay for now... but I truly know that my tolerance for sugar is back. Ugh... I hate that. You all be very careful and take care of the family. Its so stressful right now. I get chill bumps when I see the convoys. Its been great seeing the support. I wonder if they will ever know how much their help has been appreciated.

Ed, I am so sorry to hear about your home. I know that it is tough for you and the family. Eating is hard on the road, especially when you have just had surgery. I had a lot of mashed potatos when I was a new post op. Try to do your shakes if you can, they will help you a lot. My daughter lost her house too, she has come to my house to live and put the kids in school. I am in Hong Kong working, good thing I can send her money. Her business was looted and she has no means of support. The kids dad is a NO police officer. I hope he is ok, but havent heard anything so far. Hang in there!!! Cheryl

I heard the entire NO police department quit cause they were afraid of the looters since they were better armed than the police force and they were working 24/7. My uncle is a master seargant in the guard and he is in New Orleans right now. I am very afraid for him but I know they are helping alot of people. Glad everyone is okay. I am so sorry to hear about everyones homes. Its devastating. I have had 3 nervous breakdowns since the storm and I cannot wait until life is back to normal.

Hey girl... Its nice that you are keeping up with everyone. Melissa is okay and back in Petal. She is supposed to be working today but I have not talked to her. (No Power last I talked to her, yesterday) and I still have no power. I am grateful for alot of things but man, I want my power back... I talked to Becky Lockley yesterday. She is fine and worried about everyone else. Her modem went out before the storm and she hasnt gotten one to replace it in yet... So theres the scoop on us... Hope everyone is still doing okay.

Sonya Sumrall - My immediate family is doing fine. I had a first cousin die during the storm. Did not get to attend funeral because I had no phone service and the roads were blocked so no one could come tell me. I have tried to keep busy helping others so that I don't go into depression. Please pray for me. I have been so ill with my family and I do not mean, too.
