need info from Gulf Coast Medical Center
ME Too,
I was scheduled for surgery Sept 6th. Well not now of course! From what I saw on TV it is beyond belief!!!!!!!!!!
I posted this before, but as the tv was panning an unknown area I saw a
metal shell only, that had the unique shape of the Live Lite building. It may not have been but they were south of the train tracks where most of the destruction was.
I continue to pray that they are all safe. I guess we just have to wait until they contact us. If you hear anything let me know and I'll do likewise.
Were you scheduled for surgery, Billy?

I had my surgery on May 23, 2005. As of this morning I have lost 85.2 lbs. Every week when I weigh, I call and talk to Britney or Judy and they are so encouraging. I look forward to talking to them as much as anything. Dr. Ludwig and his staff have been the most supportive and encouraging group of people I have ever seen. I had a friend that had her surgery down there on this past Monday and is scheduled to go for her 2-week check-up next Monday and we are concerned as to what her plan of action may be now. Please continue to listen for word you may hear from them.
I sent an e-mail to the Tenent Employee e-mail address and the following is what I received:
We received your inquiry with questions related to the Hurricane Katrina disaster . Because all communication systems sustained severe damage in the storm and are greatly restricted, our ability to communicate with our hospitals in the Gulf Coast area is extremely limited. Information is scarce--especially as it relates to specific information on patients and employees--and updates are infrequent.
We are working to gather more information internally and from local and federal authorities about our hospitals that have been closed or evacuated, and we are trying to establish some form of communication with the hospitals that will remain open, but it is likely to take several days before we have more reliable forms of communication or more detailed information. Please be assured that we will try to contact you when we have additional information.

Let me know if you hear anything else.

Barry,
Have you tried 1-800-548-5483 the liv lite central number?
I am going to find another doc and hospital. I hate to but it'll be a looooooong time before they're up and running. I have an appointment in Mobile on the 8th.
No news yet on Dr. Ludwig or any of the office staff. I continue to pray for them as well as all those affected by this storm.
