Evacuated to Valdosta, Georgia
Hello my family! I just wanted to let you all know that Brandon and I evacuated today to my parents house in Valdosta. My dear hubby was ordered to stay at Keesler, but he is in a safe shelter. Please keep him and the rest of the coastal areas in your prayers. It is going to be devastating to our area, I just hope that we have a house to go home to when this is all over and done with. I will stay here until the base says it is safe to come back home.
Love all of you!
Rhonda
Tams, My kitties are sheltered on base with my hubby. I could not bring them with me to GA. I did that last year when I had just my oldest cat, and she puked all over my van, she is not a good traveler, and my little one is too spastic, I would not even dream of travelling with him. He is too loud and would drive me nuts! Thanks for the prayers, the way it looks we need every single one of them! I have spoke to Julian this morning, and he is okay, he said that there are trees and roofs down on base and that is before the storm actually hits hard there, so I am really a nervous wreck worrying about what the actual impact of the storm is going to be. The news says that Gulfport is already destroyed. I hope all of you guys stay safe and do not have any damage that can not be repaired. You are all in my prayers, stay out of the way of this deadly storm. I love you all!

Hey Rhonda,
I'm glad you decided to leave. I was too going to stay till I got the category 4 news sunday and said the heck with that. I have no idea what my home will look like as we didnt get anything to cover up the windows with. I have insurance, just would be nice to actually have a home to go back to huh? I have not heard anything from the few folks that stayed behind, I'm guessing the phone lines are down. Hopefully later today we'll get some reports that they're okay. Here I am about 100 miles west of New Orleans and the wind is blowing at around 40 mph and the rain is going sideways, I don't even want to begin to imagine what it's like back in Biloxi.
Girl, since you're obviously the only one that has contact to the homefront, please update us and let us know what you find out.
The similarities to the '69 Camille is just spooky and I'm truly worried what it's gonna look like.
Stay safe, and try to update us as you get any info.

I guess all the phone lines are out because I can not get through to my hubby, last time I talked to him was at 0830 this morning. I have been going nuts trying to reach him every way I possibly know how. I can't even get a line to there. All circuits are busy or just a busy sound. The news has not been showing anything much about Biloxi lately that I have seen.
Take care,
Rhonda
