Hey yalll!!! I am alive and well at my mother's home in Heidelberg. Today I am visiting my sister and using her computer. Special thanks for all the positive energy you all have sent my way since Aug. 1. I appreciate you understanding my request. I did not share w/ everyone that I was having surgery. I was nervous and ashamed about everything. I had hernia repair, and a panniculectomy (removal of massive big belly), and some other skin removal. I was at UMC for 3 days. Everything went okay. I was doing well. ON Aug 16, I developed a high fever and went to ER at Laurel two times in one day. I was admited w/ low blood pressure, anemia , fever, and a seroma. I was given a blood transfusion and lots of anitbiotics. On Aug. 18, I was transported to UMC via ambulance for treatment of the seroma. It was drained via suction and I returned home. I AM MUCH BETTER NOW. HOWEVER ---WEAK!!!! I am still very swollen on the right side where the seroma is located. It was under my right arm. IT was swollen larger than a grapefruit at one time . When the seoma was drained it contained clots of blood, fluid, and infection. My body has retained a lot of fluid during all of this which DRs. Salemeh and Dr. Collins say will go away. I love my flat stomach, I am having to get used to small breasts. They were mostly skin and fluid. There was very little breast tissue. A small price to pay, I guess. Good bye underwire bras, hello padded bras. Thanks to everyone for positive thoughts and prayers. Arlies --- I got your message while in UMC. I have not worked a day at school. I hope to go back on Sept 1. I am supposed to go back to work at Wal-Mart Sept . 5. I still have two drins and the will come out Sept. 8. I have missed yall and hope to be back on the board soon. glenda

THANK YOU GOD!!!!! Girl, I got pretty frantic when I couldn't find you! I called your home several times, and finally someone on the board told me you were at your Mom's and were okay. I guess you will be coming to Jackson on the 8th.....I will be going to Biloxi for my checkup that day...I would have come up and visited with you if not for that. I am so glad to hear from you and can't wait to see your skinny flat-tummied self!!! Smoochies Arlies

Glenda, I am so glad you are okay!!! I have been keeping up with you through Rhonda through your sister. You have done phenominally! I however, have been a sad failure. I've only lost 70 lbs since the surgery. I came back after surgery and went back to work and all the stresses w/out any help and started eating and drinking things I shouldn't. I got back on the bandwagon with Sonya (after she had her surgery) and we were walking 3 miles almost every day. We haven't walked since Monday (we only walked 1 mile that night b/c of lightening). I've been struggling a little lately, but I'm still working at it! I want to talk with you girl! Everytime I went into Wal-Mart I looked for you but never saw you! (I guess you were too skinny! ) Anyway, I'm so glad you are okay and on the road to recovery! Don't overdo it going back to BOTH jobs! If you get a chance, I would love it if you would call me!
