Good Morning to one and all from Florida. Did you see the report on the new(shiver) hurricane?It starts with a K. Did anyone watch the BRAC commision on TV? Now BRAC is definately a four letter word. It's after midnight, so I'll post now as I am about to get my and go to . I'll probably sleep late tomorrow.It's nice to be retired. My Queen Arlies-good morning. Hi Andie, I won't tell you what we say the letters are for. Actually it may be Base Alignment and closings??? Pensacola will lose the Officer training command, Pascagula got hit, so did alot of other bases. It was hard to follow so I don't know yet if my son-in-law has to relocate.His is a department re-alignment, not base closing. Since they had added DFAS of Indianappolis,Ind. to the list(which is where he was to go) I don't know where he'll be sent. He's a civilian working for DFAS, department of Financial(sp?) and accounting services, at NAS Pensacola.. Actually the commision has to present it to the president and, if he vetos it then there is a step by step plan they have to follow to overthrow the veto. It'll be awhile before it is carved in stone but it already has people upset, some will be without jobs, some have to relocate and hopefully some long term civil service people will be able to retire early. That's what my husband did when they had the last BRAC commision. Confused you yet?

AHHHHHHH !! Ok the base re-aligment crap ( that spells brac too ).. I gotcha !! You know, we're affected by this as my hubby is stationed on a ship @ Pascagoula Naval Station, so come closing time, I'll be leaving this wonderful place and move on again to another place. Navy life. Gotta hate it. Well, just thought I'd stop by one more time before dragging myself off to the saltmines. Till they actually shut the gates down, I'm gonna be ok. Once we move, I'll have to go job hunting etc.. I hate it. Take care~ Andie
