Joy and I are backsliding!!! We are still eating good but we have not exercised near as much as we used to exercise. Someone please start hollering at me when I do not post any exercise!!! Thanks Keli for asking about us. Sonya Sumrall (Purple Twinkie One)

They say confession is good for the soul. OK you did that. Here's a hand and help you back up on the wagon . I'm a newbie and pre-op but I'll do what I can.

No problem deary. I had gotten worried. It's not like ya'll to not be posting. You just got back to work and that takes some adjustment time, not to meantion your still learning about how the new you works so I'm sure you're prolly feeling a bit tossed in the wind at the moment. On the exercise thing, walking is easy, cheap and can be a group activity which is great but I for one need to mix up my exercise a bit and do a few things. Maybe you've just become bored with walking ... hey that's fine. Go try something different ... biking, swimming, water arobics....just something different till you find a few things you like and then you can swap them up from time to time to take out the boredom factor. Another bit of advice from my pre op self is journaling, and I don't mean only a food journal. I find writing down my thoughts and feelings helps me sort out what's up with stuff. Even if it's silly grammer shot to hell writing it will help. Plus you can then look back and use your own words for inspiration. And keep posting here!!!! That's what we're here for. Don't think you can only post when your on your A game *not saying that's what your doing just saying* We love you and Joy and we're here for both of you during your highs and lows! Keli

Sonya, I am 4 mos. out and I am no better. Between my jobs, children and family balance where is the time for exercise. I would like to say we need to remember the we made to ourselves and our doctors to make this thing work. My advice is to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start over. There is no problem with starting over or asking for . I am starting a program at one of my jobs. I work at USM and they have a program at campus clinic, I think it's called "Learn and Lose" plus you get incentives for joining so you know where I'll be every Thursday starting the 25th of August. Cost is just 35.00 dollars. If you would like anymore info. let me know. Take Care!!!!!

Hey Sandra! I work at USM too! I didn't know you did! I had my surgery two years ago by Dr. Whitehead. Have lost so far (and am stuck) up to 180lbs. Maybe we can be weight loss buddies. I need a lot of support now that I am having food issues. The only excercise I get is going to the campus post office every other day. I work in Career Services. Drop me a line. I have thought about joining the Payne Center...but with my salary and parking now $50.00 I can't afford it. Let's keep in touch through e-mail...o.k.?

Sandra, I really wish I had time to go but there is absolutely no way right now. I really do appreciate you inviting me!!! If you see me absent from the board a day or two holler at me that seems to be my motivating factor. Sonya Sumrall

I need some hollering at too.. I didnt exercise at all last wee****il Saturday and we rode 8 miles on the bike trail. I havent been this week but I am GOING to ride my bike tonight, come hell or high water. My biggest problem right now is that I am enjoying my protein bars a little too much. I have had 1 for breakfast and 1 for snack today and I am fighting the urge for another one. My lunch partner today cant go until 1 and I am getting a tad hungry. Get your butts to the walking track tonight. I wanna see a good report on yall.. We need to make it routine so we dont backslide. A local night club here offers dance lessons twice a week. I think I am gonna check it out... Thats good exercise. Maybe yall could join with me. But you cant laugh at me.. I have no rythym... Christine

Christine, I would love to join dancing! This is a busy time of year for me. My son is on a soccer team, football team, scouts, and AWANA's. My daughter is starting soccer this year and has lots of church activities. My husband is the police officer at Northeast Jones School. He has to work all after school activities. So... he is not able to help with kids until around November. I would love to start going with you sometime in November. Thanks for getting me back in gear. Sonya Sumrall -45 lbs. RNY 7-14-05
