BCBS of MS
Glenda of Laurel is out of town right now. However, she has BCBS of MS. Vocational Rehab. paid for her surgery. You might want to check with her next week.
I also have BCBS of MS. They will not pay a dime...so don't waste your time. I went to Bogota, Colombia to have the surgery three weeks ago. I will tell you more if you are interested.

Hi Melissa! I am using Vocational Rehab - finally got a consult date of February 6th with Dr. David Carroll in Jackson. You have to use a doctor that will accept Vocational Rehab.
Dr. Carroll in Jackson will only accept so many VR patients per year, you can call his office @ (601) 366-6606.
Dr. Salameh in Jackson accepts VR but he will not be accepting any new patients for 6 months. You just have to keep calling and checking in with them until they are taking new patients again. His number is (601) 815-1294.
Dr. Byars in Oxford also accepts VR - but there is a two year waiting list. Call them and go ahead and get your name on the list ASAP. I understand that alot of people that end up canceling their appointments for various reasons, and the names move up the list pretty quickly. It would not hurt to go ahead and call them and tell them to put you on the list while you check out your other options. Dr. Byars number is (800) 969-6908.
Vocational Rehab can not do anything until you have your first consultation visit with a Bariatric Surgeon and are approved for surgery. You will be responsible for paying your office visits to the doctor and any tests they may require. VR will pay the surgeon's fee and the hospital fee, but any diagnostic testing will be left up to you to pay. You will need to contact the VR office for your county. ( I live in Rankin County - my counselor is Donnie Frazier (601) 939-7419). If you have any other questions, email me.
