Please pray for my dad

I know I am kinda new here, but I have a prayer request... My dad found out today that the lump that was removed is melanoma. He has been cancer free for over 6 years. This time it is in his lymph nodes, and from what I read that isn't very good. He lives 1200 miles away from me. My mom is going to come down when I have my surgery, so this might put a damper on things, which I am not complaining. I want my dad taken care of first. I won't have the surgery until the all clear, because if anything happens, or the worst happens, I will be going home in a flash to help my mom and dad. Dad goes to see an oncologist on Thursday to get his questions answered. Please be in prayer that God touches him and bring healing if it is His Will.

Oh Connie, I do hate to hear of this news about your Daddy. Please know that he is my prayers. It doesn't matter how new or old you are to this board, just by being here makes you one of the family. If there is anything that I can do, please let me know. Tammy

Bless your heart and your Dad's and your Mom's. I will certainly keep you in my thoughts and prayers. If there is anything I can do, please let me know. To encourage you, my hubby, Jim, was diagnosed with liver and colon cancer in July of 2003. The liver was so involved that they said surgery would not help and basically told us "this is it folks". Now, two years later, he is TOTALLY cancer free. Remember God is still in the miracle business and we are gonna pray for one for your Dad. Smooch Arlies

Thanks Arlies, That is so wonderful about your husband... how awesome. My dad had melanoma and prostate cancer at the same time while I was in nursing school back in 98/99. He has been cancer free... I thought 5 years and any new cancer is just that, new... it can't be linked to an old one. I found out melanoma doesn't work that way. It can come back to haunt you in 10 years... I am really relying on God. I hear since it is in dad's lymph nodes, it is more serious and considered a "High risk melanoma." I will find out more on Thursday and keep everyone posted. I know God is the best doctor, and a world renowned healer It is extra scary because I am so far from my daddy, and have not seen him in over a year and a half Thanks alot for your prayers!! Hugs, Connie
