hey all we are back from our vacation. It went a lil differently than we had originally planned but we had a blast. We added New city to our trip at the absolute last minute. ( we were in virginia when we decided to go on to NYC lol) we spent a day and a half there then backtracked to DC. I could spend days and days in DC and not see all I wanted to see. But we saw alot and had a blast and I was able to walk alot. On the first night I know we walked 3-4 miles looking at al the monuments. I was able to walk up the steps of the Lincoln memorial, without help or using the rail. and to me that made my trip I am an avid fan of Lincolns so it meant the world to me. saw all of the major memorials on the first night then did arlington and the holocoust museum the next day and then out to Mount Vernon( washingtons home) and walked all the time it was so great that i could now. The only down side to it was that while we were there it was the hottest it has been in DC in 7 years is what we heard. And i am here to tell you it was hot. But the good thing it helped me reach another goal in my wls life. I am officially below 400 lbs for the first itme in many years. I weighed yesterday and I am down to 396. . So my vacation worked wonders for me as well. And Christine we saw so much and I thought of what you had told me to see but we ran out of time before we could se it all. We are planning another trip there in the next few years though i guarantee it. Barry -120 lbs 03-14-05 ps if I count what I lost before surgery i am at a - 141 which just blows my mind lol. Bear

Hiya Bear! Welcome back to the sizzling heat of Mississippi !! Sure sounds like you have had fun up there, Washington DC, NYC, isn't it wonderful how you can all of a sudden do all those things normal people do?? OMG I can imagine how you felt, walking up the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. To me, my visit to DC was very emotional, the whole patriotic thing really got to me, thinking about what all these people mean to our great nation... enough of this though. Back to you!! 141 lbs??? ohhh now I'm all jealous. You officially passed me up!! I'm "only" down a total of 136 lbs from my highest weight so you keep up the good work, okay? You're looking great and I bet you're feeling marvelous!! Just think of your next vacation, I think you oughta take your wife to Cozumel next summer, wearin' Speedos and then send us all the pictures of you two sittin' on the beach , sippin margaritas, and the following sunburn too!! SOOOO I'm very happy for you and your family that you were able to have such a great time!! Wohoo!! I got a call from my Hubby today, he's in Curacao and he told me, as he was sitting there, with his friends , at an outdoors-type restaurant yesterday having lunch, it was so nice, a light breeze in the air, all he could think of is how he wanted to do this with his WIFE rather than a buncha shipmates. So now I'm saving up for that CRUISE. May be a few years till I can afford it, but at least I'm not scared to go any more. I don't worry if I will break the brow when I try to walk across from the pier to the ship ~Andie~
