MY point is I have been attending support groups in maine for the last year and have been to the one at Keesler. I am in pain still and my husband is back to work. We live in Waveland and one- financially right now couldnt afford 3 trips to Biloxi this week and two- I cant drive and dont know anyone who can help me. That was my point. I felt you all were giving me a hard time because I was going to miss ONE meeting at 6 days postop. I have an extensive background in medicine and am very aware of how important the support groups are. This month I thought the my MS oh family would do since I couldnt make the other meeting. Maybe just getting hormonal or whatever. But that is my reason for the other comment.

I apologize. I did not mean to make you feel like that. I just dont want to see anyone backslide.

Was this aimed at me for what I said yesterday? I was just telling you how important it is to attend the support groups in the future, I was not ragging you about not being able to attend the one last night. The reason I said anything is because I have seen so many people over the past 6 months have the surgery at Keesler and then just stop coming to the support group meetings and stop coming online to this site. Getting an attitude with people who are trying to help you will not help you in the long run. I am a very big advocate on helping encourage people so that they make good choices and I apologize if I upset you. Rhonda

I'm glad you had a good day but what's up with the "practice what you preach" bit? No one on here preaches they support. Christine and Melissa and others who are futher out *near a year and over* have been through things you as a new post op and me as a pre op haven't experienced yet so they let us know things...give us a heads up ... they aren't perfect ...they still struggle but I value every bit of wisdom they pass on and you should too. It will be very valuable to you in the long run. I do hope you see what I mean about support and that it helps you through your journey. Keli

Here goes... 6:30 am 1 c coffee w/splenda & creamer 8:30 am 1 South Beach Bar 12:00 pm approximately 1 1/2 c watermelon 1/2 c pasta salad 3:00 pm 3 sf toffee squares 6:30 pm small shrimp salad W/ranch dressing & 2pks crackers 7:00 pm 1" x 2" brownie square I have no idea what the cals, carbs, fats or protein are. I just had to have that brownie, even though I knew I should not have eaten it. I have not had protein drinks for about 4 months now, tomorrow I will start back with one a day. Hope that will stop the sugar cravings.

Those sugar cravings are bad. They are hard to fight off sometimes. I find when I eat all protein and good carbs during the day and save my treat or higher carb food for my night time snack I don't crave stuff all day. Protein drinks help that too. Good luck with those sugar cravings. After so long out from surgery those demons return. Congrats on your one year anniversary. You look great. Melissa
